Myochin Haidate - Why do people use it?

From 54 to 55, I can certainly see why, but after RK Breeches are available, I really don't know. Basically, the RK Breeches offers 2 DEX and 3 ATK instead of 1 STR (I'm ignoring the HP and Parrying Skill because in the common exp party, they're relatively useless). I know that STR is very important for the last 3 WSs, but in general, is 1 STR really superior to 2DEX and 3 ATK?

Because it's free? My friend didn't really notice a difference with RK pants, so he resold them. I never bothered trying, although I have looked at them more than once.

Free yes. Looks loads cooler. And when leveling i noticed more consistency with the AF pants for whatever reason. +2 DEX is somewhat petty for a SAM at that level so that's not much of a factor to keep RK breeches, the attack is nice though. Really either or is fine. If your tight on cash i would in no way consider someone gimp if they used the AF pants.

1.) looks kewl
2.) 2nd highest str pants we can get besides shura haidate
3.) +5 parry helps alot when you pull hate....

i personally like myochin haidate more then rk, i still wear them when farming for the +5 parry and the +15 hp. str for ws, atk for normal swing.... sometimes though atk helps increase ws dmg but then again its all too random to really tell how much str caps and how much atk you need to improve a ws dmg. all and all, these pants are good and i say they are about equal with rk breeches..... pretty much use which ever you like more...... its kind of like which is better, byakko haidate or shura haidate, i say shura, another sam say byakko, both are good pants, choose which ever you like more. XP

I got them RK pants because I thought they look better together with the Haub >.>

i think im missing something but dosnt the haidate have +3 STR

Aye, they have +3 STR among other stats. The OP most likely was speaking of +1 STR in relation to the +2 STR RK pants give you.

I saw 2 75 sam's last night wating for airship to bastok. one was semi-tricked out end game gear. 2 flame rings, haubergeon, wyvern helm, few others i cant remember but he had myochin legs on. was also a TOTALLY tricked out 75 sam in full hachiman gear. only piece he wasn't wearing were the legs, and he had Haidate on instead. I think the main reason people stick to them for so long is after 60, all ws's have 75% str modifier and so the end-game sams do full str builds for equip.

Shura Haidate (STR+5 Accuracy+7) is the "tricked-out" Lv 75 SAM leg equip. Byakko's Haidate is another option. once you get to those levels, unless you can't get those items there's no reason to keep using Myochin Haidate.

one reason why i use Myochin Haidate that no else mentioned yet is inventory. the difference is definitely not worth two slots. Royal Knight's Breeches can be left on the AH, Myochin Haidate can't be sold.

I use my Myochin Haidate for the +3 STR. I also swap it out with my Saotome Haidate for the Third Eye Effect. I think this is the best Leg gear for SAMs for WS post 60 until you can get your Shura Haidate. At 72, Dusk trousers are really nice for the Attack +14. They really help out with your damage per second, but I'd still use +STR legs for your WSs.
