Calling all 60+ Samurais!

Hey, my name is Saito and I'm a 59 Samurai on Caitsith. I've been viewing these forums for quite some time, but have never posted for some reason. I got a few questions for my high 50's / 60+ samurai brothers.

1. On my server it takes me hours of sitting in Jeuno to get groups, I've tired all the Jeuno zones (Lower, Upper, Port, and Ru'lude) and still takes me a long time. My gear is pretty good, not the best (thats my next question) but do party invites increase after 60+? Is it even worth it?

2. Where the heck do you guys get all this money?! Either for Sniper Rings, Haubergeon, or Ochiudo's Kote? I managed to get my hands on valk mask, but thats it. Farming in Pashow Marshlands just aint cutting it, what are some good money making / farming areas for a 60ish samurai?

3. Food and Subjob? I've been using meat mithkabobs for some time now, and I'm about to get my AF gloves, should I invest in Tonosama R.Ball's? Whats the effect with the AF gloves, how much does it boost riceballs? Also, I've been using WAR my entire sam lifespan, I know this has been brought up countless times, but will 1 or 2 SATA's add up to the power of berserk?

Yeah, thats allot of stupid questions I know but bear with me here hehe. I'm not fed up with the samurai job class, I love it and its weapon skills but I think other people on my server dont realize the importance of a TP builder / weapon skill seter upper.

1) No static? You're boned. It's been ten days since I made any xp as a pickup scamurai.

EDIT: Statics can actually be a bad thing too. I was in a static from thirty-eight to seventy-three. As a result of my time away from the pickup scene noone really knows me. So when my static dissolved it kind of left me high and dry. If you manage to get into a long-term static, make sure it's one that will go the distance.

2) I farmed and farmed and then farmed some more. Hoo Mjuu, Mee Deggi, Leaping Lizzy, Valkurm Emperor, Stroper Chyme etc. I also did all the missions/quests I could do by myself.

3) Unless you can maintain a supply of Shogun riceballs, which I highly doubt, you'll do better with Ochi/meatkabobs. I know some will disagree with me but I don't think tonosoma riceballs are worth it.

Berserk, Warcry and Double Attack are great abilities. Then again, so are Sneak and Trick attack. Both WAR and THF make good subjobs.

it all depends.. if you can get your name around as a skilled player, you'll end up getting quite a few invites. i normally stay /anon since i have a static, and when i turn it off i get invites even without seek/search comment.. and if i have seek on i normally get an invite within an hour. gear doesn't make a bit of difference compared to quality of player.

pick up fishing. it takes a long time to get it up to a profitable level, and a long time to get lu shangs, but when you do, you can make upwards of 100k/hour. this was my method. sometimes when i'm bored with fishing i farm tigers teeth, 2100 gil for 3 from repeatable quest in san. NM camping is too sketchy, and only for those people who have massive amounts of times to waste or fast provoke + low latency.

food is pretty much preference. if you want to be an attack junkie go ochi/mith, if you like to mix things up af/tono.

subs i'd recommend war until 60(+), then you can experiment with rng sub. i wouldn't recommend thf sub until 65+ when you can do level 3 renkeis for some BIG damage.

Kujo right on this one. Best way to lvl past 60 is to really well ... become famous. Help people key hunts ,af anything. eventaully your name will be know and the calibur of play you bring. I'm not as famous as say kujo on my server but because I have made most of my pts and shown what I can do to others. I do get random invites from time to time even without my seek up.

Fishings probly your best bet... if your not into that . Any other craft other then cooking will probly get you some profit but might take longer. If you need somthing to feed your craft, mining and Gobboe hunting will probly sufice.

Prefrence. I went the attack path of och/kabob. over acc af/rice
same goes for sub. I'm sticking with /war till 75 but its really what you want to be in the end. if you want to be a rarer sam go /rng , a mix of power and technique go /thf or just be upfront attack go /war.

for what graven said on other crafts..

note, that you won't be leveling them to make those million gil items, because you really don't make profit on them.

most crafting profits are based on repeating hq synths on low-level items.

Thanks for the input! I got 60 today and did rank 7 the other day. I got around 160k and once I sell my valk mask I should be able to get a sniper ring =/
