Chainmail or Windurstian CP

I have hit 20 with my SAM finally and am on my way to Quifim. I already have two Beetle +1 earrings, spike necklace, two balance rings purchased. Now I am debating which set of armour to get. My choices are between the level 24 Chain set or the level 25 Windurstian CP set.

Here are the stats on each item:

Chain Set

Chainmail(body): Def +21
Greaves(feet): Def +6
Iron Mask(head): Def +11
Chain Hose(legs): Def +16
Chain Mittens(hands): Def +7

Total Def 61

Windurstian Set

Hachimaki(head): Def+9 HP+3 MP+3 STR+1
Tekko(Hands): Def+6 Ranged ATK+2 ACC+2
Sitabaki(legs): Def+12 HP+6 EVA+1
Kyahan(feet): Def+5 Ranged ATK+3 ATK+3
GI(body): Def+16 VIT+1 EVA+2

Total Def 48 HP+9 MP+3 STR+1 Ranged ATK+5
ACC+2 VIT+1 EVA+3

As you can see I get a lot more bonuses from the Windurstian Set of CP items but I lose a lot of Def. Which would be best for me to get? Is the loss of def that much of a concern? Or maybe should I mix and match the two sets. I looked into costs at AH's and the two sets seem to be similar in price, but the CP set is a little harder to find.

Overall I would prefer to get the CP set since it is SAM/MNK/NIN only and I like the look of that armour, but that lack of Def is kind of troubling. So lets hear your opinions.

I was thinking of doing that, except getting the Chainmail body piece instead, no point getting the other one.
Also, I dont think I can wear a Subliger again so Ill get some Chain legs too :D
The rest Ill probably go for the Windurst Armor.

federation if you can afford them, but they are around 50k on my server so i just spent 5k on the others 2 acc 2 range, dont get chainmail its overpriced and only good for tanks, just get the windurst set

Melkor I personally am going with the Hume RSE. The ACC Boost is nce on the tekko but I think we would get more benefit from the 3 DEX and 3 STR.

i'd go with the federation tekko...... should last you awhile, til either u get kote or another glove you like....... thats my opinion though, go with what you like :sweat: :sweat: :sweat:

Yeah, Im starting to like that +4 Acc and +4 R. Acc, from wearing other equipment on other characters, Acc helps alot more then some stat boosting, although that stat bonus does look nice :D

The gloves would also work well when I play my Sam/Rng for fun

I doubt Ill have the gil for the Kotes, and I want to get Sniper Rings before I get them.

I say that if you're going Samurai get the Windurstian gear, I have the chainmail and I'm getting tired of it, Signpost, you might know my brother Arko *cough* ask him if it's worth keeping.
