Money Issues...-_- Anyone help/Advice?

Alright, normally I play BST but decided to take a break for awhile... So I got SAM, and I just hit 8 today. When I ran back to AH to sell some stuff, I was in for a rude awakening while browsing higher level G Katanas. They're all so expensive... Where does one get the money for this? Does anyone have any good farming tips for me? Where to farm, what to farm? How much to sell for? Level 13 bst, level 8 SAM... If I could get some help, that'd be great. (I got to 30 with WHM, so don't even bother asking me using that to farm )

Katanas are no more expensive then Great Swords or Great Axes. The thing about samurai is that you must compensate. Don't focus on armor too much , central your money on Great Katanas and anything thats +attack +dex .Also if your really low on cash, but in inervals of 10ish like me. I went from a lvl 1 katana to 8-16-27 . You don't have to buy every blade per lvl,Most give a very small +attack ratio .

Not really any super easy quick cash methods short of stumbling over an NM with a good drop. I personally opt for the slow and steady farming/fishing/crafting methods over competing for NM's and praying, and the money is pretty decent for the effort involved.

The good thing about the great katanas , at least on my server, is by the time you work up your first 15k-ish, buy the level 12 or 16(?) GK, you are pretty much set until level 34, as they are all pretty much the same price in that level span. Upgrade, sell old, break even. Almost all the GK's can be found on a vendor in norg up til about then too, and run cheaper than AH prices on my server...but dunno if its enough to justify the run there; I'm lazy.

Straith is right about you having to go farm. Take your whm to palbarough, giddeus, or ghelsba and you'll be fine and make a good amount of money in the process. Sam does get more expensive as time goes on (grrr.... 450k or more for gloves and lvl 40 body armor). But most of the equip you will buy you dont have to goto norg to get. Bastok has a tenshendo shop where you can buy the same katanas that would be on sale in norg.

Palborough is where i farm for cash and i have good success there but heads up for noobs. When a lv10 noob saw me killing Quadavs for no xp he accused me of kill stealing/griefing. I tried to explain but he wouldn't have any of it.

I can usually get about 5k an hour from sales and such on avg, but i have a thf sub at 15 and that helps a great deal.

In an effort to lvl up my whm, I was selling off my old gear of my samurai. After becoming severely frustrated with playing whm(Melee player at heart), I stopped the sale of most my samurai gear I had retained, spare my lvl 23 Okanehira great katana. I had reached lvl 30, so I decided to save up for the Kotesu great katana.

I spent probably.....a week earning all 16k from scratch. What did I do? I bought the nodchi so I could go ahead and fight something. I fought and fought until I could start buying stacks of pickaxes, I went into zeruhn and mined for 2 days. Those 2 days I earned the money needed to buy the Kotesu.

Mind you, I could've probably earned it in one day mining, but my patience was wearing thin, and I wanted to go out and fight again.
