I think Humes have the coolest stances in anything. Elvaans have some nice stances and tarus and mithras too. I just dont like how elvs hold 1h weapons and how tarus swing a 2h weapons its like too heavy for them

Prissy? Nah, just masterful technique. Their motions carry alot of power.

how they hold a regular sword, definately does not look like masterful technique.

Let's clear this up a bit:

The great katana animations for all races are identical to the greatsword animations. Period. End of story. The ONLY case where this is not so is with Elvaan Males, and possibly Hume Males. Everyone else seems to use the EXACT SAME STANCE.

As a hume female, it's very obvious that my GK stances are identical to my GS stances. And very, very disappointing, as it looks like my character is physically incapable of gracefully handling the thing (because the animations act like you're swinging a big claymore, not a lithe katana).

Mithra GS/GK stances are definitely the same as well, and Tarutaru stances seem to be too. Galka I've seen a couple times and it looks the same, but I rarely see a GS Galka.

It IS true that Elvaan Males hold their GKs differently, but this seems to be the only time that's so.
Retired for good this time; been a fun ride everybody.

Hume male GK stance is definately different than our GS stance. We hold GS straight up in the air like the galka in the pic several posts up. GK is off to the side and angled. I'm glad, since the GS stance is the only one that I don't like of mine. Really happy with the way I hold a GK though.

they put their body into their swing, carrying alot of force. Elvaan animations just look teh kewlest, period.

                    teh sukc=everyone else <Elvaan :D

That's because they are too heavy for them the guys are like 18 inches tall. lol

Yeah the hume females hold it exactly like that galka does in the pic. Left leg forward, with bent knee and sword to the side, pointing straight up.

                          !~!

I still think elvaan 1h sword attacks are not masterful techniques they just look really really prissy, but taru on the other hand make me laugh lol im a taru and im gonna be a samurai (maybe not a great combo but its wat i want ^_^) and i just like thier stance but my favorite GK stance is mithra with the sword like pointing behind them

er well.. im looking for a female elvaan *and a female hume.. and also er.. well just more pics from differant angles for all of them =x* but i cant find them, and as i did a search and this thread looked as if it had the largest pic collection out there, i figured i would bump it and ask for more pics =x

also, i am offended and shal point out that great swords are not klunky! and weighed on average about 3.5-4 lbs (compared to 2-3 lbs for a one handed sword) (there are no real 'great' swords in this game, they are all mostly longswords, so when i say greatsword i am refering to this, a longsword is officialy what you call a 2 handed sword, that is a sword optimaly designed for two handed useage, not a sword requireing both hands to lift, which frankly dont exist and never have, a great sword would be those crazy german anti calvary sword/spear things) While im at it i feel the need to inform you all that katanas canot cut through trees, telephone poles, cars, or bank vaults, or really anything harder than a one inch or smaller GREEN stick with out risking damage, and even then with out good form you can bend the blade. Yes, bone is softer than said stick while it is inside something alive.

Anyway, female elvvan? And maby mithra from a few differant angles =x

                              Stance information

As a practitioner of kendo, I can tell you that the Elvaan stance is called chudan; it's one of the three most basic kendo stances.

The Mithra and Galka use two different variants on Hasso no kamae, a stance that was frequently used in older Ryu such as Yagyu Ryu.

The others are no specific stance, as far as I can tell.

What about the hume stance? Its similar to the Galka version but the katana is slightly tilted forward.
