          • past week, I made a trip to ZV twice, staying there the whole day (over 10 hours a trip)
and I made a lil over 200K each trip :D hunting for keys and open chests

you can make even more in Fei Yin if you're familiar with the map of that place. easier monster with a more expensive item from chest.
I always get lost in Feiyin tho ^^

(And THF become number 1 rival you don't want to have when hunting for chest  those cheaters can open all chests without hunting for key like other jobs.....)

serveral rasons i like ZV more than feiyin...
            - Feiyin is a little harder to explore with it's 2 entrance... sometimes chest will appear on a spot unreachable from 1 entrance
            - demons in ZV that drop keys still give me exp ^^ so i am able to collect BCNM coins from them. got over 60 coins in only 2 days hunting there
There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

                  • Wow

After reading all of this info on RDM I have not only totally changed my opinion about them, I have decided to be a RDM eventually having BLM as my sub. RDM are so much cooler in FFXI than in the other FF's (no offence). Thanks for a the useful and helpful information Jei, tazirai, SharMarali and anyone else whose name I forgot.

                    • Well you have me convinced. I am going to be a Hume Red Mage / ???.
I will decide what my sub job will be once I have infor on how well the RDM goes with the four newer sub jobs.

I have four questions for the RDM importers: One: What guilds have you joined?
Two: What kingdom did you start out in? If you had the choice, which one would you have started out in?
Three: When you change your job (Being a Hume I plan to experiment.) do you keep your skills? For example: Say I have a one handed sword skill of 222, I change my main job, do I end up with a one handed sword skill of 1, or whatever it is you start out with?
Four: I am a RDM. I level up to level 9 so I have water 1. Do I have to buy a scroll inorder to use the spell, then scribe it to a spell book, or do I just know the spell?

                      Thanks!
I've said goodbye to Vive, my Taru on Bismarck, yet I say hello to Melocke.

                          • I'll answer all the questions that I can Painter:

                            3) It will go to your currect job/level cap. IE - a lv 1 RDM's 1H sword cap is x. 5 or so probably. Not sure exactly. But if your 1H sword skill is 222, it will go down to 5, the cap. Once you level up, it will go to 10 for example. Because, in this example, 10 is the lv 2 cap.

Basically, if your 1H sword skill is 222, it will go down to 212 for a Lv 65 RDM. Change your job to a 65 WAR, and it will go to 222. Change to a Lv 32 BLM, and it will go to 0. AT least that's how I understand it. Your skills carry over, but will not exceed the level/job cap.

                            4) You use a scroll, select yourself, and know it. You don't scribe it or anything like EQ. Once you use the spell, you learn, and can cast it.

                            Hope that helps.

                            • Thank you Zero!
Forget the second question because I looked at the San Doria Quests... There is no way I am going to miss out on all that gil!
Also, since I am starting in San D'oria I think that I will be fishing (there is a level one quest that you get a rod from.) but I don't know what else to do... Any advice would be nice.

EDIT: Ok, I am starting a Clan. It is based on Red, Black, White Mages, Summoners, and Bards. PM me if you want to join.
