Re: Dispel, can it be resisted?

Anything with lots of Dark resistance can resist Dispel. Also, I find that spell-based buffs are easier to Dispel than other types.

Undead, Demons, Imps and Antica are notorious for resisting Dispel. Anything with Magic Immunity will do it, as will the occasional HNM.

Re: Dispel, can it be resisted?

For those of you that do Nyzul Isle or other ToAU events, Soulflayer-type mobs are damn near impossible to Dispel, not sure about Finale on them since I never take my BRD to Nyzul, but I've never landed a Dispel.

Re: Dispel, can it be resisted?

One of these days, I'm going to get my BRD to Lv.37, and then I'll be running around as RDM/BRD trying to Finale every other critter in Vana'diel.

Finale is sadly not as sticky as dispel. Its not horrible if you have singing skill gear and m. acc gear and Light/Apollo Staff. But mostly it won't work well on VT or above unless they're weak to light.

Works great on weapons and bones and fomors, not so well on trolls or mamool.

Re: Dispel, can it be resisted?

I have this theory that mobs that resist damage from certain elements by a certain % also auto-resist enfeebles of that element that often. I'd like to look into it. Right after I confirm that mob Cursed Sphere isn't water-based.

I just remembered. Isn't Diamondhide undispellable?

                Unfortunately, yes. Undispellable.

I know, me too. I did a little "wtf" when I found out the truth myself.

It is when used by trolls. The Blue Magic version is dispellable, same as any Stoneskin effect.

Not always true - but "mostly" true. Kirin is weak to wind magic, but resists Silence like crazy. Fenrir Prime is putatively weak to light magic damage, but is virtually impossible to Flash. Some other NMs are this way too. Rank and file monsters of the XP-able variety do typically follow this pattern, however.
