Dispel, can it be resisted?

I've been in alot of situations where I would have thought that Dispel would be resisted, fighting T mobs as drg/rdm, fighting CoP spawn NMs (sea monk, tonberry, and whatever the other one is) I've even been in a lvl 72 party in the Mire as a lvl 43 rdm and I've still been able to Dispel the Imps. The only time I have ever seen Dispel resisted was vs summons.

So, can it be resisted? Lmnop says it can (and he CAN'T be wrong, he's Lmnop! ) Is there any general guidline for Dispel resistance?

It seems to have a very, very low chance of resistance. That's what makes it so damn irritating when it is resisted.

It can be but its pretty rare and usually only by mobs with high dark resistance.

Finale can also be resisted, which is extremely annoying when you consider BRD's crap skill rating

Monsters with high dark resistance like skeletons and demons can resist it occasionally. A few monsters resist it pretty damn often, I think imps and ahriman mainly. Avatars resist it 100% iirc (except maybe Super-Carby, I've never fought him). Dark elementals probably *would* resist it, except they never buff themselves so why would you bother?

In general it's very hard to resist, but not impossible.

Don't forget buff-tastic antica. They don't resist it as much as demons and undead, but they're so annoying in other ways.

Dark elementals probably *would* resist it, except they never buff themselves so why would you bother?

Maybe they have Dread Spikes now?

Eye's don't resist it much. They resist Silence which is a bitch.
Pots resist it when they do Magic Barrier
Demon's don't resist it much either
Undead is the same story

Of course, I have Taru INT, which isn't that big of a difference considering everyone's gear End-Game. And I don't have any more Enfeebling Neck Pieces at the moment (RDM Hat has been hung up in favor of PLD Shield..)

But the only obscenely resistances I've seen are Pots with Magic Barrier and possibly Gods.

Mostly I notice it on Dynamis-Xarc demons. Not commonly but enough to be infuriating when it happens.

some of the mobs in assault missions resist dispel very often. Even with main rdm and cap merti skill.

Bahamut has about at 60-70% resistance to Dispel (not sure about Finale) Which is actually a problem because dispel spam in attempts to get rid of Pro V, Shell V, Phalanx plus dispels hate properties can lead to one dead RDM. Or you get lucky and live and have to just twiddle your thumbs for about 5-10 min because your hate is decaying so slowly ._. . Not that I speak from experience....

What's bad is the recast on it means we can literally SPAM it. Yeah. Now that I know Dispel is a big ol chunk of permanent hate...
