Can you actually stun reliably with Head Butt from /BLU?

The stun rate is sketchy even when you can first cast Headbutt, and slowly goes steadily downhill after that. By the time you're 40/20, it's fairly inconsistent, and beyond that, the Stun success rate quickly drops into the gutter even when the spell lands for damage.

Bludgeon from /BLU is also a lot weaker than from Blue Mage main, but still feeds the monster 30 TP if all hits connect.

Correct.

The main reasons to use /BLU are Cocoon, Auto-Regen and stat-ups, and maybe Beast Killer if you happen to need that trait. Bludgeon's pretty efficient for a damage spell, and doesn't use a lot of casting time, so it makes the grade as well, as long as your melee accuracy is decent.

Although subbed Bludgeon is weaker than on main, and still feeds 30 TP, don't rule it out completely depending on your target. BLU physical spells have absurd damage-to-MP ratios, and if the mob's Defense is low enough (Dia helps,) Bludgeon/Head Butt/Battle Dance may still have high enough MP efficiency to be worth casting if you really need to do damage in a pinch.

/BLU is a good solo sub simply because of Cocoon.

An alternative not many people use/think about is /RNG. If you gear yourself for it and hunt worms, you can get quite a few levels that way. After all, worms are defenseless once you Silence them.

I make use of Cocoon, Head Butt, Wild Carrot, and the stats/traits. Very solid defensive build pretty much capable of blood-tanking T and some VT.

I've melee soloed Guardian Statue and level 78-79 Marids using /BLU.

OP just wants to level RDM for use a support job to other jobs; his RDM is Lv.30-ish. <_<;
