I don't have qualms with Daggers themselves, or the damage output, or the weaponskills. You just look fruity when swinging a little butterknife at a dragon, especially as an Elvaan. I give them equal treatment in the guide in respects of going over them.

Of course not, Refreshes recast wouldn't be up after just one Dispel.

Mhurron, he never said don't use daggers. In fact, he has an entire section dedicated for their usage and application.

Speaking of, I still can't get a damn Martial Knife lol! Everytime I have the gil there isn't on on AH, it's been 2 weeks now!

Found a mistake I made, RDM can't wear Blue Capes, I need to swap that for the Intensifying Cape.

So yeah, I like it. Can't say I NEED it, per se, but I imagine that it is a very useful thing to have handy.

This was something I assumed when I put this up there, which is why I chose to post it here, where I know there are knowledgeable RDMs who could give candid reviews. A friend yesterday likened me posting this here to a scientist publishing in a scientific journal. I know that most of the RDMs on here like II, Task, W3K, Mhurron, and Kirst won't find a ton of info that they don't already know on it.

However, as I walked through Whitegate yesterday, I saw some things that made me feel somewhat vindicated for writing it, or at least like it wasn't worthless. When I see someone who is obviously a higher-level RDM, I pretty much always check them, to see if maybe they've thought of some useful setup that I haven't yet. So as I'm walking through town checking 75 RDM's, here's what I see.

A RDM in Walahra Turban, Healing Torque, Zenith Slacks, and an Ice Staff w/ a STR+3 Grip. The Healing Torque I have no gripes with, I'd pick one up if I had room for it. But a hat and legs that are inferior to their AF1 in every way except MP pretty much, and a Grip that is absolutely worthless when using a Staff that you at best have the skill of a 37 WHM for. They could use some advice.

Another RDM soloing outside. Soloing Easy Prey as /NIN, using Shihei for mobs that generally should be hitting them for 0 with Phalanx up, wearing a SH+1, mainhanding a Joyeuse and offhanding a Martial Knife. Mainhanding the best offhand TP builder a RDM can get, while offhanding a weapon that loses the only trait that makes it special when it is offhanded. They could also use some advice.

So I know you guys might not find a lot of use for it, but I do know that there are still plenty of 75 RDMs out there who have absolutely no friggin idea what they are doing beyond Refresh/Dispel/Haste. I don't feel bad about spending time on the guide at all now.

Re-wrote the BRD/SMN sub section after some thought. Updated link. So I lost a contact on the way to work today, I have half-vision now, it's like wearing drunk goggles. Mhurron's looking kind of sexy.

Oh no, I don't know Mhurron at all outside of here lol. And yeah, I broke my glasses last week too, as well as losing the prescription details I needed to order more contacts. Not the best series of events for my vision.

OMG that's terrible. I think my vision is fantastic. But I work with computers all day and I play FFXI when I get home..

I think when our generation gets older, they'll do a study. I'm expecting to either have super strong eyesight (a la Legolas) or not be able to look at bright lights without cringing.

I have to go with the latter there, I think they'll find that 80% of our generation will have had their retinas burned off by computer monitors by the time they're 70. X.x

My final draft before I turn this into a web page. I updated and redid several sections, added my INT vs. MAB part to the nuking chapter, as well as a final chapter going over equipping RDM well on a low budget, made the format a bit nicer, and added some sprites and whatnot.
