  • My RDM Guide...

So I spent the last week or so writing my own endgame RDM guide...I'm currently debating if I want to copy and paste it to the various forums I spend time on(like this one) as it's currently only on my Dynamis/Limbus Linkshell's forums, or if I just want to put it somewhere easily accessible like my little ls's GuildPortal page and post the link. It actually turned out kind of massive, 18 chapters and 1 appendix, and I still have plenty of tweaking to do...

At any rate I'll decide that later, I just wanted to make a post to say thanks to you guys, I did give a bit of a shoutout in the credits, but I wanted to say it on here as well.

Thanks to all of you RDMs in here that have twinked out and tossed around ideas that I've put out, even the ones who came back with mostly snark.

And thanks a ton to Armando for helping me understand a whole lot more of the game's math than I did before.

I'll have it available for you guys to critique one way or another at some point in the near future.

    Thanks,
    Callisto of Ramuh

Edit: Here's the guide in Word format.

We have a RDM index which points to a lot of resources on the internet. If you can find a place to host it at, might work well (I find having to make a thread to put a guide that's 18 pages to be irrititating to view because that's a page & a 1/2 of posts to print and it won't print nicely)

That's "IfritnoItazura", or "Itazura" for short. ("Itaz" is the minimal short form, if you must.) And, yes, that dude is paying attention to this thread--because he doesn't want to write a RDM guide.

          Show me the guide. ^__________^

p.s. Good timing, The Red Mage Index is about to be reorganized (slightly).

            Re: My RDM Guide...

It's pretty specific to my style of RDM, and a bit Ramuh-centric. I don't claim for it to be perfect, but I do try to make it as well-reasoned as possible. I go over how I do pretty much everything, from my take on spells, equipment, merits, to how I set up my gear sets and play in merit pts and event such as dynamis/limbus. I do need to do some more testing on some things and tweaks do it, but I think it turned out pretty well, but I'd like some peer feedback on it.

I'm going to see if I can post our guest account/PW for the forums that it's on for now, and maybe see about making a jazzed-up better looking version in a PDF file or something that I can get hosted.

I want to read your ideas. Im interested to read what people think about the importance of certain red mage merits. I have not discussed it much with anyone but im not a lvl 75 red mage yet, not even that close <67>. I think I will put all my merits in Ice and Wind potency for bind kiting reasons when im doing that. I want to hear imput from other red mages players what they think are the more important merits to skill up, why.

                1. Stop selling yourself short. Either you know it's a good guide (Because it has helped countless number of people on your LS/server) or it's not.

                Let's hope it's the former.

                2. There is no such thing as server-centric guide. The mobs, the NMS, the items, et cetera are all the same regardless of what server you are on.

Never quite understood why people keep saying stuff like this.

I await your guide with great expectations

If there's anyone qualified to strike up a guide on RDM, it's you. Looking forward to it.

It's currently on the Fraggle forums, I'm working on getting a guest account set up so that you guys can check it out without needing to register for the forums, hopefully will have that at some point tomorrow.

Maybe he just wanted a few of you guys to go and review it first (Like Taskmage, Applepie, WishMaster, et cetera) and then get feedback. I think he wants to make sure that if he does re-host it elsewhere for general public use, he wants to make sure everything is tidy and the like.

                          ... or am I wrong?

Note: In any event, I forgot to give him a Thanks. At least for putting in the effort and time to provide a resource that will be shared by everyone. Some may or may not find the information useful, but undoubtedly it's no small undertaking (18 pages!)

No, that's right on, I'd just like some peer review before I clean it and rehost it(I'll need some help figuring out how to do that probably, I'm not the most computer-savvy), if it's going to be out there for general use I'd like to clean a few things up and make some slight format changes. But feedback would be nice beforehand. I believe the webmaster over there is just going to set it as a public forum so that it can be viewed without the need of logging in.

Well I'm free to read it. My Project Manager is gone for the rest of the week and my last day of work here is Friday (I'm going back to school next week,) so I'm not doing a damn thing.

If you can't find some way of hosting it... At least make it a WORD document and put it on some sort of file sharing? There is a common thing that people on this forum use for their videos, and it doesn't limit the downloads per day that you are allowed if you don't make an account. File Planet?

The name escapes me, but that's just a suggestion.
