wise braconi any good?

k so ive hit the big equipment upgrade that is lvl 72.
i pretty much know all the suggested items that need to be picked up for my lvl and have already started (errant pigaches/rainbow cape, errant slops) buuut, i saw wise braconi at the ah...and well they look cool. so im like....are they good?
and should i use it over errant slops? or in conjunction? magic accuracy?!
tell me if wise braconi is a decent upgrade to use, ill even use it for resting if i have to, i just like the way they look!

The good news is RDM JSE is really cheap now, so if you like how it looks you can get it without wasting too much gil on it.

On the other hand no matter how you look at it the +7 MND/INT from Errant will pwn the +2 or +3 M.Acc Braconi and +1 offers you (specially if the 2MND/INT = 1 M. Acc theory is correct).

If you have the gil and inv space to buy it for fashion then I say go for it, but if you want funcionality out of it Errant is better in my opinion. The -emnity could be nice but RDM doesn't suffer from Emnity problems so that stat wont make much of a difference either.

yeah, i have the errants slops as my main pants slot already, just wish i could have som sort of functionality with wise braconi, if anything i could use it while standing around town -_-;

The only time I could ever see Wise Braconni>>Errant/Mahatma is during the Bahamut v2 fight. Landing Dispel on your first or second try is really critical. 60%ish Dispel resist+buff spamage (Pro V, Shell V, Stoneskin, Phalanx) means you'll be casting Dispel often and build hate steadily throughout the fight, unless you have a fair bit of -enmity. I know from first hand experience . Ponderous Flail to the face ftl ;;. (Cast in Nashira Seraweels with still a crappy success rate)

The Wise Braconi are a good alternative to the dismal penalties of Errant Slops, but have very little to offer. The Accuracy is ok. The Magic Accuracy is fairly weak on this piece in relation to the bonuses offered by the rest of the set, but they go with the outfit (for the fashion conscious), and are very good in situations where you're not casting a spell that's powered by INT/MND (e.g. when you're meleeing).

Try these:

Jet Seraweels

You could happily toss out both your Wise and Errant for these and never look back. The only bad news is the price tag (300k-ish on Asura).

Personally I use 3 pieces of Wise all the time now, and I probably will until I do a bunch of Assaults and get some pieces of Yigit even though I'd have to give up the -Enmity. Though as said, it's usually not that important.

I like my Braconi. I wear them for the Accuracy (RDM needs it occasionally), but if you're looking to save space, Braconi is a good spot if you have Jets. I definitely wouldn't dump them for Errant though. I would pull them back off. I like the look of the full set (except the prophylactic hat, which I don't generally wear).

Seraweels have nice stats, but unless you take hits often they aren't worth the price tag compared to Errant for me. Then again I'm leveling BRD right now and I'm thinking about recycling Errant for when the time comes so my opinion is very biased.

I wear Vendor's Slops all the time now. HP +25 MP +25 MND +2 and Accuracy +3 for very cheap. The mnd bonus isn't nearly as big as mahatma or jet, but it's there, and the extra hp and mp = bigger converts = less stress on your mp during meripo and a little extra security for soloing. Ah, and the acc bonus is higher than wise +1. The HQ has HP +30 MP +30 MND +3 and Accuracy +4. Not bad at all.

When I chose between Mahatma and Jet, the Jet were like double the price so I went Mahatma. Looks like now that they're not as new and rare it looks like Jet has dropped below Mahatmas, so I should trade mine in. I prefer the Vendor's for most things obviously, but they're unnecessary in situations like dynamis where mp isn't a concern and higher stats are more important.

Ive actually just hit 72 and Ive a full set of wise/errant/ogre gear and Im starting to whittle down the full sets to what is useful and what isnt.

I saw the Jets, had the money, Im not looking back. Im going to keep my wise gear just to run around in, really cheap and they make me look like a cuddly little blue taru bear, so its all good, but I wont be macroing them in or wearing them XP wise.

I swapped in a few Wise pieces (depending on the spell I was casting), but I never wore one full time. And I didn't bother with the Body or Legs.
