Ill cap my enfeeb magic, and get Elemental as high as I can tonight, then fight the old man tomorrow I think.

Unless I can get it all capped tonight - lets hope a couple besieged on!

A friend of mine did the maat fight at 66 as a rdm, but that was his 9th fight against maat. He has 8 other 75 jobs and was heavily merited, so that gave him an edge over people doing this fight for the first time.

there is 2 maat caps on ifrit and 3-4 ppl very close to maat's cap already.

I fumbled in the beginning. Maat already had blink up and my sleep got blinked. Same with Sleep1.

Then i slept him, continued smoothly.... till i tried to use my ether.

INT POTION GIVES YOU MEDICATED STATUS (someone said wiki said it didnt)

So...I just plain run outta MP. Maat at 30%.

Where were those hover tanks again?

I'm going to assume you did use convert before resorting to that ether . Don't worry too much, most loose on their first try.

Well I said that wiki didn't list them as giving medicated status, but I meant it more as "needs clarification", should of said that I suppose.

I love how so many people (not directed towards you hongman) walk into the Maat fight so cocky. And usually respond quite humbly when they are defeated the first...second...third time.

Good luck on your future attempts. May I suggest Muslums? They only give 10mp, but are used fast, and don't have a delay after them like ethers. I used 2 stacks on my whm fight, very nice little item. Could make a seperate macro, or do like I did and just have a /item "Mulsum" <me> line after each macro.

And I think everyone fumbles thier first maat (weather they win or not) good luck next time.

If I have to use meds in these fights, I prefer vile elixir +1 and muslam myself. Both don't give any delays before you can cast next spells.

I'd avoid any Ether, the delay is really annoying.

I used the cheapest gear and a Rolanberry pie (maybe +1?) when I won the fight.


It's much more about strategy (and a bit of luck) than about gear really.

me, used a melon pie +1, used a pro ether, and 2 super ethers, fought on darksday.
i brought the extra proether because i worried about resists with aero 3. which happened in my last two fights btw. just in case i had to do more than the usual 7 aero 3s required.
in fact now that i look back at it, i didnt even need to use those super ethers, but used them anyway to make sure i had enough mana in case of sleep/aero3/bind resists etc.
can never be too sure about that fight.

I used yagudo drinks, rolenberry pie +1, hi-pots, & hi-ethers.

You don't need to rush through the fight to win Maat. If you're out of mp and convert isn't up, just rest a bit while Maat is sleeping (with bind & gravity on him).

I was VERY cocky going in to fight Maat, and I got pwned. I hate the word "pwned," but that's really the only word for it. And I should have had him the second time, I just made a stupid mistake. >.<

Oh I was cocky too. I thought I was the best thing since sliced bread. I could heal any party, manage my MP, stay alive on the occasions I drew hate. I was assuring my victory on the first try!

Yea, well I got paralyzed and proceded to get pwned because I mispelled Paralyna in my macro -.-;;

So, make sure all your macros work before stepping in the burning circle!
