1% Recast, 2% casting time doesn't seem like a lot, but in a tough battle that second or two could save your life.

I really wish I had time to go back to Dynamis and get my Tabard though.

It has 30MP on it too, but I don't see any reason why I'd want that over Communion, Harvest, Phantom, Morion, Moldavite, Enfeebling, Anti-venom, or any other ring that RDM uses. I would say it's highly situational and definitely not worth collecting Ancient Beastcoins for.

I was hoping the Fast cast on this + the fast cast on my Homam legs would be nice, but you guys seem to not like this so much...

It's only good for soloing stuff where you really need the Cast/Recast boost and Convert in the middle of the battle.

Other than that there are more useful and cheaper Earrings on the market.

It would help your Flash recast and give you a nice MP boost (for a Galka PLD) so if you don't have any other Earring that's more useful to you then Loq would be nice.

Communion, if you can find one, and afford it, by all means take it over Loquac.

Harvest is a nice consolation, its not going to help Slow and Para a lot, but its better than nothing.

If you have the choice between Antivenom and Loquac, I say save the gil/Assault points, farm the Ancient coins, the Ehuvi Organs and Lum. Tissue and get a Relaxing Earing and Loquac, and macro in appropriately.

+INT...its so...meh. Unless you are soloing/duoing/trioing something that really depends on whether or not Bind and Gravity stick for the full duration, then I could see using +INT earrings over Loquac. Even still I would switch right back to Loquac for Utsu/Buffs to lower cast and recast. I won't comment on Nuking because I use Moldavite/Magnetic.

2% Fast Cast might as well be 0% for all intents and purposes. It's nice for the +30MP, however (and puts that pathetic Astral Earring to shame), so for non-Taru RDMs this is a nice item to boost Convert ratios.

For Paladins, this item is a waste (even for Galka PLDs who might want the MP, it's impractical). Much better off with +HP or +Enmity earrings like Hades.

Hmmm I was thinking about using this with a singing earring for BRD at 75. Maybe Singing + Wind earring would be better if the haste is really that low. (I won't have any merits in singing/wind skill because I already merit that catagory for BLM and RDM)

Hm, I never payed attention to that part about the Loquacious earring. The Fast Cast enhancement on it is pretty lame.

Thats a drop from Ix'Aern DRK. How nice it would be if it was purchasable with Ancient coins.

I would get a hades earring but they are just so expensive (for the price of hades earring I can pretty much upgrade my belt to a Trance belt from Warwolf and get + enmity and hp) and I can merit the enmity and hp so I thought the fast cast might be nice, but seems like the general feeling is that the fast cast is just not something that is worth it. I get coins pretty easily and was eyeing this earring, but I think I will just look for something else.

It's a wierd situation, because according to FFXIClopedia, a lot of the Fast Cast items in the game are generally worthless. It's actually pretty depressing:

1% Warlock's Mantle
1.5% Rostrum Pumps
1.5% Homam Cosciales

But then again, maybe I'm jumping to conclusions about this by looking at the numbers individually and not as a whole.

According to FFXIClopedia:

Fast Cast I = 5%
Fast Cast II = 2.5%
Fast Cast III = 2.5%
Warlock's Chapeau = 5%

That adds up to 15% reduction on spell casting time, so where is the missing 20%?

Someone get Apple Pie or Ice Mage on the case to test this out.

Either FFXIClopedia is wrong or we have a messed up view of how much percentage actually affects things.

Nope, that's the reduction on Recast times, Casting reduction is always twice that amount.

I could see a BLM swapping this in at the start of something huge like AM 2, but apart from that, seems like just another nice MP earring. That's too bad, not much fast cast gear in the game.

Why? Would 0.2 second less cast time on a 10s cast spell really do anything useful? I really don't see how.
