What gear for lvl 30?

For my lvl 30 rdm what gear should i go for? Right now i have a mixture of Beetal and Brass. I figure there has to be better gear at my lvl but am having trouble deciding what to get. I can either build up conq. points for rank gear or buy gear at the AH? I have rank 4 so i can get rank gear for lvl 30 but dont know if i should be getting other type of gear instead. I usually heal in parties, but often times i will end up enguaging at some point, if that helps any. I am also wondering what specifically is RSE(i know its race specific gearg but are not sure where to get or what the pieces are), and would that be a better gear to get for RDM at lvl 30?

Non-Taru races would do well to use RSE, as most pieces of non-Taru RSE give nice spellcasting stat boosts.

A decent Wand for INT/MND, a White Cape, a pair of Saintly Rings, a Justice Badge (or Holy Phial if you want to splurge), Devotee's Mitts and a Friar's Rope are all easily acquired and will do Good Things to your effectiveness.

Icemage-im a Hume. 1 more question, it seems like the stat boosts arn't really good for the gear at lvl 30. Am I correct in that thinking or am I not looking at the right gear(I usually check at the AH)? Should I be getting quested gear at this point or will the AH still get me good gear with decient stat boosts?

To be totally honest? At level 30 there's not much of anything that will make you ridiculously better as a Red Mage. Stacking lots of MND and INT helps, but its effect at that level, while noticeable, is still pretty weak.

You really won't have to worry too much about your gear selection until level 40, when you get access to Convert. At that point you'll be scrambling for every piece of MP boosting gear you can lay hands on.

Don't let your gear get too out of date, though; otherwise you might run into some people who will form a bad impression of you if you don't at least pay some attention to your gear.

Otherwise the only things you need look out for are things like the (free) Pilgrim's Wand, which gives +2 MP recovered while resting.

Select your race, job, the equipment slot you're interested in, and input the level range. Then, hit "Search".

You should be looking for Mind, Intelligence, and MP, mostly. (If you see MND and INT on two different equipment for the same slot, the ideal answer is "get both"--and macro swap between them for different spells.)
