Current goals and how you plan on achieving them.

I've been 75 for a year now, and I keep finding new ways to impress myself.

For instance, I tanked BOTH manticores (Eastern and Western Sphinx) for the Bastok 6-1 mission.

That was fun. A little suicidal, and the full story is a bit more involved, but for the most part, I tanked Western Sphinx and about 40% of Eastern at the same time as RDM/NIN.

But what's everyone focused on? I know it can't be RDM 24/7...

For instance, I'm working on taking RNG to 37, then I'm going to take THF to 37, then I'm going to take DRK to 37.

By that time, i would have decided if I want to raise BLU, COR, or DRK as my next 75.

I'm leaning towards NIN, actually, because my friends and I can do nightly BCNM40 runs, and we're making decent money off of it.

Oh yeah, Under Oberservation is so retardedly easy.

I know the two NINs irl, so I usually call them on the phone when we do it.

These clowns go in as NIN/BLM and they pretty much fight naked.

And with +6 Enfeebling at lvl 40, I can stick Bind and Gravity like they're going out of style.

A lot of things going on on my side... I just got into a new HNM LS and members are extremely active. I haven't had this much fun in game for a long while.
Killed my first Jourmy and Tiamat, did some fastest Bastok dynamis run I ever did.

My goal now would be obtaining the 3 items that for the longest time felt so out of my reach... But I believe with my current LS they are not impossible.
1) Rdm AFv2 hat
2) Adaman Hauberk
3) Ridil

Just got COR to 75 few days ago, RNG not long before that. Now I'm looking over what to level next. I had retired my original character and its mainly for the reason that I don't want to repeat missions further as I have to this point (CoPs and Assault are the real killers here, I just don't want to repeat them).

Thing is, I really did like BST and I'm pondering starting that over on the current character. I have to work out a WHM sub anyway for COR in the long run and NIN sub is already done, so I figure I'll just do this one last retread and get it over with so I can work BST as my next to 75.

I'm also facinated with PUP for some reason, even knowing all the downsides to levelling it right now, not unlike BST, they are somewhat of a soloable job and it there's anything my current character lacks, its soloablity. I'd do NIN, but I don't really need another consumable job on my plate, COR and RNG are a handful enough in that regard.

That aside, top priority is merit COR and RNG to max, complete CoP, rank up in Assault and get back to crafting with a vengence. There's the endgame stuff too... but thank god I don't have to do kings.

I'm leveling all of my various subs while I figure out if I want to keep playing FFXI. I'm also trying to figure out what my next job will be to level beyond the subjob levels. I've already done BRD, PLD, and WHM, so maybe I'll level one of those again or something else entirely. I'll figure it out one of these days.

This should probably just be in the general section, since I'm sure folks that aren't RDM will be posting here.

I need to merit a lot more.

Maybe go back to Dynamis and work on the Tabard (and maybe Chapeau just in case).

Level up BRD and BLM and THF and maybe SAM.

Get ZM (still 14) and CoP (still @ 8-2) done. <-- These are the most important right now.


And maybe level cooking to 60, it isn't expensive and I have massive reserves of crtstals, yet I never remember about it till I need a Yagudo.

Get my butt in gear and actually finish my merits for RDM and SMN.

Get DRK to 75 with my set thats starting tomorrow.

Level WHM in my free time.

Finish at least Morrigan's Pigashes. (Got Nemains Sabots, just need the other 2, which no one knows where they drop D: ). As for other pieces, would like the pants, but in no rush to get them over BLM and BLU. Kinda want Marduk's Tiara for SMN, but I can wait if a BRD wants the pieces first.

Maybe one day return to Dynamis to finish SMN relic (just need horn) and get some more RDM relic (I gots the pants)

My time in-game has become much more limited, almost directly following the breakup of my Dynamis shell. I've not had the heart to make time and join another(it's so difficult to go from being first in line for drops back to last place in another shell).

When I return to the game on a more regular basis, the highest priorities are CoP completion,Salvage(for the Morrigan's robe), nation Mission completion(after Windurst, on to San d'Oria) and, as ever, meriting my RDM to completion.
After I've finished pimping my RDM's merits, I wanna take PLD to 75, even though with mage-oriented merits, it won't be the best it can.
Following that, going back to getting Relic armor as well as upgrading the relic sword.

In the interim, I'm focusing mostly on stuff that I can drop at a moment's notice. I've gotten cooking to 60, and will use that to level Alchemy to 60, in turn using that to level Clothcraft, Carpentry, Smithing, all for the eventual ambition of getting Goldsmithing to 100(which I'm well aware is no easy feat).

I've been having fun with Assaults, Besieged, and merits parties where I can(I can actually say I've missed meriting on my RDM... scary).
S-E struck gold when they created Assault, and modified Besieged to yield limit points, I find myself able to do it on my lunch time.

Since I've began playing again from the beginning of this month, I've been trying to level up a melee job for once. I've always been a "casting"-type job since retail was first released for PC. Sure I have a volley of subjobs at my RDM's disposal: 40RNG, 40BLM, 40SMN, 40+WHM, 37DRK, 37WAR, 37NIN.. But those leveled melee subjobs can't really be credited for much as the intention wasn't there.. I didn't buy the greatest to best equipment possible. I didn't get all the spells, skills, or whatever necessary abilities that requires an item to learn. (Like a scroll). I didn't cap all the weapon skills and magic skills. Nor did I even buy the best food, mostly it had been simply Meat Mithkabobs whenever I leveled a new subjob to 37-40 that is also a melee class.

So, giving change a try and seeing what it's like to be on the frontlines without the need to refresh everyone..

I'm still leveling subs, and also tossing around the idea of leveling DRG as a main with a friend of mine. We would duo DRGs rather than join exp parties. Could be a lot of fun!

I'm also now a part of the Project Zero team, so I'm going to be leveling an alternate character on Carbuncle a couple of days a week.

Got Rdm to lvl 38 last night. Going to get to 41 and then work on Blm (7) for a while so I can sub it to lvl Whm (19).

Also just got Nin (14) the other day so I'll be working on that from time to time. I also work on Blu (21) mostly solo'n when I get bored.

Still very new to the game so Im just trying to level up my jobs , have fun doing it. Its been great meeting a lot of very nice people in-game. Kujata ftw!

I am also working on Rank 3 Sandy. Just have to get a pt together and kill the dragon.

Hrmm.. Well, last year I would have said I didn't have any RDM-specific goals, because I had basically retired the job but kept my equipment for when it was REALLY needed. Over time using it though, I got back some of my interest in the job.

I'd really like to get the Warlock's Tabard +1 (I already have the chapeau +1) so that I can get my Warlock's Armor claim slip and free up 3 inventory slots XD. Also, one of my various linkshells is starting up Salvage runs, so I need to finish up the ToAU storyline so I can get access (yeah, I'm one of those lazy people who doesn't really do missions unless I can see what's in it for me =P) and I'd really like to get a couple of pieces of the Morrigan's set. Specifically, I'm interested in the body and the legs. The body would require a lot of macro retooling, because I'd want to swap to it when NOT casting an enfeeble, but I'm up for it. I wouldn't mind some AF2 also, but I need my summoner's horn before I can start blowing ludicrous amounts of points on RDM AF2. I'm 4/5 on SMN and 2/5 on RDM (hands and feet).

Non-RDM goals include taking another job to 75. I was working on BLM, but after 2 weeks of no invites at level 60, and then getting myself killed while soloing, I've become frustrated and I think I'm going to put BLM on the back burner for awhile. I have WHM at 60 also, and that's one option I'm considering, but I'm also considering BRD. I tried going the whole DD route for awhile and found that no matter how much money I sank into it, I still wasn't up to par with other PT members.

I work full-time and have other obligations outside of work and FFXI, so I really don't have the time and gil to devote to coming up with the best-of-the-best equipment for every single job. My SMN gear is actually pretty darned good, with the only improvements I can really make to it at this point being the AF2 horn and, if I ever have the excess gil to spend, replacing my fortune egg with a hedgehog bomb. My RDM gear isn't anything amazing, but it's certainly decent enough to do what I need to do. So basically, I'm planning to stick to support-type jobs where I already have *some* pieces of gear and can just work on improving certain slots for the specific job I'm on.

RDM goals - Complete Phalanx tanking gear and become effective as a pld to tank as rdm/war. Get a Joyuse. And not get resisted by mobs with enfeebles!
Also get moldy and many rare/ex gear rdm and whm can use
Non-Rdm goals - Break current ws records for DE, Evis, SB and Vorpal Blade on thf. Break passed 400 dmg with Hexa on whm during exp. =3
