I agree to a point about not using WSs, but at the same time they can be really helpful when it comes to skill ups.

Depending on the weapon, you're looking at 2 to 5 hits from the WS that doesn't effect your DLY. So 4 hits from Vorpal Blade gives you 4 extra chances to get Skill ups. I've had a Vorpal Blade that gave me almost a whole skill point, so use this to your advantage. If you sub WAR and use Defender full time you reduce your attack and help your Stoneskin/Phalanx last to their full potential.

With Dagger, I waited until I have 300% TP and then used Energy Steal or Energy Drain. At 300% those can return just over 100MP. A great way to level Dagger is to get your hands on the Rare/EX Hornetneedle, Haste yourself, and have a BRD give you double March. You attack so fast I've taken to calling it 100 Daggers. You will attack with almost no pause! lol That's how I got Dagger from Lv.200 to Lv.240 to do Evisceration Quest. Who cares how bad your Acc is when you attack so many times. ^^

Energy Drain is an awesome WS for during solo play and doing skill ups. When I had my RDM 75 and was working sword and dagger, it was a nice little boost of mp to keep me going w/o ever having to /heal in addition to refresh and other skills.

Chef Boyardee Tree is an excellent place to level past 200+ skill and I was able to max out skill there..... you can even still level on robber crabs in Kuftal up to 210 .... but I stopped at 208 and went to the tree. You just have to be more on your toes and can't be lazy, go afk, etc. in tree unless you set up the situation so you get no aggro but those steelshells can hit pretty hard if you're not prepared. Genbu shield + jelly ring + cheviot cape + phalanx + bio 2 + slow 2 + blind is like.... o_O ubUr for this set up lol get those things if you don't have them..

Now that I'm restarting RDM all over again..... boy... will I miss the heck out of those items until I replace them ; ; lol

you should just solo Qurin Enterprisers at 200+ this time got me from 200 to 217 solo in 2 days

In Boyahda with a fast weapon it's not hard to get from 210-230 in a couple hours. If you don't have /nin just get a buddy to tank for you. On Lakshmi it's very rare I walk through Whitegate without seeing a shout for 200+ skillup or latent break in Boyahda, so even if it's less common on your server for some reason, it shouldn't be too hard to attract members.

Aramis' rapier was a great skill up weapon for me, but I only focused on getting skill ups rather than killing the mob. So I would camp by the Cloister and just zone the Steel when it was too low on HP, that way I could fight again as soon as it respawned.

Same with Dagger really, but Energy Drain made things go much faster (same with latent for Evisceration, although I soloed that in Kuftal).


Edit> Steels go up to lvl 75 so after 240 gotta zone crabs often till you get an EM, so at that point Gobbues work kinda better if you are used to meleeing T mobs.

19th lvl soloed in 2 days ^^, might not be fast but i dont have to wait for shouts, now 219

Just curious, what sword were you using for skillups? If you're level 73 RDM, then its high time to go down to Sea Serpent Grotto and camp Charybdis for a Joyeuse.

I generally run around and help my LS break their latent effect, and I tank for them too to skill up my parry skill. And since SAM can WS with anyone just do a bunch of Lv2 SCs with the SAM starting the SC to get 3 points a pop. You can also find someone looking to break their latent effect with a weapon compatable to yours like another RDM and just trade off starting and finishing the SC which averages 2 points per WS instead of 1 Burning Blade > Flat Blade = Fusion. Or you can solo it at 1 point a peice
