  • Shattering Stars Question

On many guides and posted strategies I have heard of people using Vile Elixir and Vile Elixir +1 in conjunction with Chainspell to help in defeating maat. My question is what are the technicalities of this.

From what I have read, I believe Vile Elixir restores 25% HP and MP, and The +1 version 50% of each. Does this restore you to the 25% mark/50% mark, or does it restore 25/50% of what your total HP/MP are. (ex. 800 MP total, the +1 would restore 400 MP regardless of what your current MP level is? Or would it bring you from 100 MP to 400MP?)

Also, I was under the assumption that using either one of these would give a medicated effect. Is it possible to use both because a +1 is considered a different potion? Is chainspell necessary to use both at once? Does this still even work?

    Any insight would be appreciated.

    Re: Shattering Stars Question

They restore 25/50% of your max HP. It won't stop at 25/50% mark.
So 800 max MP, it will give you 400MP. Not stopping at 400.

I think the vile+1 will give you medicate effect right away. I'm not sure about the normal quality one.

The medicate effect applies to all medicine as far as I know. So, no, you won't be able to use anything at all once you have that status. I think a Vile+1 alone would be enough tho, I didn't use any meds at all the couple times I beat him for myself and my friends.

If you're worried about medicate status, you can use muslam. The draw back of muslam however is that you need to repeatedly use it over and over because they only give 10MP each. So you will have to sleep Maat first before you can start spamming muslam. It will never give you medicate effect tho.

Boost as much INT as you can. It will help you land your sleep. Landing sleep is very important....

They give a straight 25%/50% of both HP/MP, capped only if it would push you above your normal maximum.

Neither vile elixir nor vile elixir+1 gives a medicated effect. They are treated the same as potions and ethers in this sense.

You can bring and use both whether or not you use Chainspell, but only one of each since they are Rare items.
