Maat wasn't a pushover for me...took my eighth try to take him down >.<
I think alot of it depends on luck...on the 7 fails my sleep would not stick even though I used the dark stave and my enfeeb was capped. I did waste time with bind/silence and that too was a mistake.
On the eighth try sleep was kind and speed was key.
Easy? No. Skill? Yes. Luck? Most definitly, lol.
From what I've read I still believe Rdm Maat to be the hardest.

I've heard of people losing 8 times to the Old Fart, and my 1st time he just would not Sleep. I also ran into MP problems on my first try.

People say to trade your test to him naked, and then enter the circle naked too. So he doesn't have all your INT+, and Skill+ from your gear. Well when I do that, I lost about half of my MP! As an Elvaan my base MP pool isn't that great, but I double it with my gear. I ran in, Chain Spelled, and started nuking away. I failed 3 times to sleep him so I could Convert and finish him off. Perhaps if I had all that extra MP, I could have won the first time.

2nd time I entered with max MP, went in on Darksday instead of Windsday, Sleep landed with no problem, and I took a total of 257dmg I think. Fight was easy.

But Congrats on drop'n the Old Man. Lv.75's not far away now.
