Well, I'm not a high level RDM but a friend took me and showed me how he solo'd Rubies as a RDM.
He pulled them did a couple fast spells to wipe blinks, slept them dispelled until it had no effect then aspir'd. Silenced, nuked then slept. He kept Stoneskin up at all times. And just did the sleep nuke cycle.
It was interseting to watch, months later I went with a friend and explained what I could remember, she hadn't been able to solo them either. I helped her by just voking and backing her up a little until she got the hang of it.
Maybe grab 1 friend with voke to help you out until you get it down to a science.

The time limit for Shattering Stars is 10 minutes. Maat only takes mabye 10 Aero III to finish off though, and you'll probably use Chainspell for the last few.Comment

Don't take too much stock in your victory or losses over Ruby. People suggest soloing Ruby because the basis behind that fight,(and other solo encounters), will be the basis of the Maat fight. That basis being: Sleep, debuff, Sleep, nuke, Sleep, nuke... etc. However ,the Maat fight is much more random, and even with 50 victories over Ruby under your belt, you may still get frustrated by Maat.
Just take it one step at a time. You'll be alright.Comment

Maat shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes if you're luckly. If you're unlucky, well, you need more rubies.
The decisive factor for Maat battle is you landing your sleep. Get all the enfeeble skills and INT you can to maximize your chance.
I did Maat 3-4 times as Taru, all won within 3 minutes. But that's because we have high INT I guess.... none of my sleep ever got resisted. But I heard other races can have problem landing it.
I've never solo'd ruby. Believe it or not. I enjoy hunting in groups and got all my testimony from pots lol ^^ So saying you can't beat Ruby = you can't beat Maat is not so true.Last edited by Jei; 12-12-2006, 12:35 PM.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Enfeeble is pretty critical in landing sleep so yes you want to cap that.
I've fought him with 130 elemental skill before, he didn't resist a single nuke. So it's not as important I think.There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
