Savage Balde is a lvl 240 WS and i was told i would have to merit to get it but on http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/index.php/Red_Mage it says our sword caps at lvl 250, is it wrong or was i lied to

RDM has to cap sword skill at lvl73 to accept the quest.Comment

Yup. Rdm doesn't have to merit it, at 75 their sword skill caps at 250. You have to cap at 73 though to get the quest.
