    Re: Kiting in Under Observation

I did this again tonight, no good drops, but I had to share my experience.

Here's a hint: Do this BCNM with others who have done it before.

I did what I usually do ... buff up, rest, then run up and Gravity the Sobbing Eyes, then run. I was kiting just fine until I noticed that it was a Compound Eyes following. One of the NINs in the party grabbed the wrong mob. Yeah, we wiped.

I was not happy. I mean I thought it was fairly obvious that the mob that I casted on would be the one I was kiting ...

      Re: Kiting in Under Observation

My strategy was similar to everyone elses basically.
Buffed myself up including Stoneskin and went /nin which was very helpful.

Went up, was the first to cast and used a Gravity on the big eye and had two NINs take the other two away from me (because SS and Shadows can only take so much). Really the other two eyes shouldnt get outside the main area, while I'm way infront of the big eye, so far infront that I can see it but I'm outside its casting range. When Gravity wears you could probably use it again or just a Bind, up to you, I stuck with Gravity mainly and made sure to run from its long-casting spells.

Once the other two eyes are dead have the two NIN come down and stand in a triangle, back turned. You can cast some magic but its still nice to keep gravity so it cant move so fast between people. Keep curing the other two, rest when needed and you are sorted. Dont even think I needed any yag drinks for this.

Keep your back turned, thankfully Gravity lasts for a long long time. One of the easiest BCNMs I've ever done. Gravity sticks so well ES isnt needed unless you have really crap Enfeeblig.

You can't take things for granted when somone is fighting a BC for the first time. Besides, simply saying "I'm gonna kite Sobbing eyes, so you kill one of the others" or something like that would've saved you a lot of trouble.

Unless you did an the guy messed up anyway.

That's pretty much what happened Raydeus. Oh well, at least it was the guy who messed up's orb that was wasted and not mine.

Stories like that are why I only ever do BFNMs with people I know and trust. Of course, only going with people I know and trust is why I have hundreds of seals and not so much money.

I totally never go on a blind bcnm/ksnm/whatevernm invite unless I know the people I'm going with. Its naive to trust people you don't know with something as important as seals because...... jee, they could "take the money and run."

The only thing I ever hate though, is when I get with a group of LS mates or something to go do BCNMs.... we end up doing it for 8 hours because we warp back and forth to Jeuno to get more seals. Lol, time consuming, gets boring after a while, but the payload is worth it.

                Re: Kiting in Under Observation

I feel this is the easiest BCNM I have done. I have a good story about using random players and that level 75 dosen't mean anything these days.

I recently hit 37 with my nin and didn't want to pay for Ni. I had 40 seals left and decided to roll the dice to get the scroll or pcc from this BCNM. I went with the /sh method and was specific about veteren players only. Two /t came within 30 min from 75 nin. One nin used rdm sub. The other nin said they would sub blm in the /t. We did the usual gather routine and we all started towards the peak.

Now this is where I should have seen red flags. During the walk through the jungle I noticed the second nin mp was at zero. I checked the party members and they had war for sub. Thinking to myself, "Nice, we have to wait for them to go switch", and asked them if they had forgotten something. The nin said no, sub war works just as good if played right, and he has done it multiple times. We argued a min and I made clear that is was my last 40 seals and I really didn't want to lose because of a rookie mistake. The other nin didn't dispute and both where 75. Level 75 players should know how to play their job, right? Still a little leary about the sub and now the actual player, I left it at that.

Before entering we did the rolls for first and this happened to be the only time I actually go first. Inside we go. Everything is going well. I land my gravity, kite to the bottom and start on my way back up. From my previous runs the nin usually have killed their eyes and meet me half way. Not this time. The nin/rdm had to help the nin/war kill his eye and keep him alive with cures. The nin don't engage until the 5 min warning and end up losing to the time limit. Afterward the nin/war has the nerve to say I kited too far down and this was my fault. Then follows with "We need to melee the eyes some how".

Pissed off and fuming, I told the nin/war to buy another level 75 account and be sure to play that job just as bad.

Morals of the story: I GOT FISTED DUE TO MY OWN STUPIDITY AND IGNORING MY INSTINCTS and LEVEL 75 DOSEN'T MEAN SHIT, YOU STILL HAVE TO PLAY.

Note: I am sure nin/war can be done, this is not in question.
