  • Re: Looking for an endgame Taru RDM/PLD

Here's a good collection of Avesta solo videos on filefront: http://hosted.filefront.com/Wrish/1492926

His notable melee solos imo are BCNM60: Whiskers, Baronial Bat, Bune, Shadow Dragon, and Big Bomb. All were done as rdm/nin for utsusemi. The latter three have absurdly powerful TP moves so he used a Ceremonial Dagger to deliberately do 0 melee damage to cheat the mobs out of TP gain, relying on En-spells and DoTs for damage. The bat and coeurl were straight melee, since their TP moves are either non-threatening or have an easy workaround. He uses melee in his Brothers ENM solo also, but it seems to be mostly to kill time between Converts. Blizzard III and DoTs are still the main source of damage.

I wouldn't know until I get SAM even higher. On Qufim, I parsed 50% of my party's total damage. Yes, you read that right. I wasn't even pimped either.

Well, he'd have to be 30 in order to even unlock PLD.

And up until 41, it honestly doesn't matter what you sub.

So while I don't advocate it, I'm sure he can make it.

Sadly enough, he will probably get picked up in the later levels, due to the constant need of refreshers, so I guess it would be possible for him to hit 75 with rdm/pld.

I don't get invites even subbing WHM or BLM. On RDM main. At 64. The horror.

Then again, you're now entering the "Fuck you mages!" stage of the game, so this is expected! lol

Let me rephrase then, he won't have a difficult time getting from level 1-65.

Probably easier to get PT than Smn/whatever ._.
Grr seeking SMN is such a painful experience. Been almost 2 years since I first started levelling SMN, still only 58.

                    . . .wow.

Well, at least I'll be okay up to 65, purely on the real job of my desire, the Red Mage, apparently.

Past that. . .well, at least I'll have have plenty of friends by THEN. . .

But, thanks for the positive comments. Except for Mog; seems to be negative all the time. But, can't have all the insight without both sides of the coin (wow, that will NEVER catch on)!

65-72 I got invited to Mount Zhayolm and then Caedarva Mire a lot, about half the time as main heal. During the Mount Zhayolm stretch I played mostly in the middle of my night, JP primetime, and it was before the TP-burn craze really took hold, so I don't know how easy it is to party there now, but .. Barfira and Dispel at the one camp and Silena and Haste at the other are practically necessities for survival, so a rdm/whm fits the bill quite nicely.

At 72 I got sick of spamming Silena and Silence after nearly two straight weeks in Caedarva (mages vs imps is a perpetual game of "no you shut up!"), so from 72 to 74.8 where I am now I duoed Wamoura in Zhayolm with a blm friend of mine.

Only being practical, my friend. Treat this game like you would the real world. You can always take what I say with a grain of salt.

I think negative comments are to be expected YM. Imagine if you go into EQ forum and see the thread "I'm going to be a wizard who DD with his staff and won't nuke!" I think we're having a similar feeling here reading about Rdm/Pld and Rdm/Smn. Not trying to be mean, but it really sounds that way. You may even get worse comments in game when other ppl see your combo you know.

Being nice and being efficient is a whole different story. I prefer to hang out with good friends for chatting. But for EXPing I have to go with the efficient group of people ' ')b

I said negativity was needed, as expressed by my HORRIBLE expression "can't have all insight without both sides of the coin."

But comparing me to a Black Mage that DD's without Nukes. . .ouch! That one hurt -_- . And I hardly think it was nessacary. But, oh well, I got the point anyway.
