Few RDM gear questions

1)For my RDM i have Errant body, Grandeos chain, Dark Staff, and hierarchs belt while resting. Im wondering if any RDM uses a Royal Cloak, or the NQ/HQ version(i cannot remember atm if royal is the HQ or NQ >_<)Is it of any benefit?

2)Im a Hume RDM75. With blm sub my MP is usally around 730, whm its around 710. I dont have much MP+ gear on, i have Rainbow cape, Penitents rope, Errant legs and feet, and Marine M Gloves. I dunno if i should concentrate on MP+ gear. My macros i have on RDM right now are pretty damn complex(my nuke macro uses all 5 lines and i use pages 9-4 full of Macros for my subs like /blm, /whm, /nin and /drk)

3)For my NIN sub im working on getting a Joyeuse. I have decent gear imo, ogre feet, wise legs, Amnent mantle, warwolf belt, ogre hands and the lvl 74 red body(name escapes me once again) Im not all RDM-solo crazy, but i would like to improve my game. Id really want a Duelists Chappeu for the refresh and maybe a Dalmatica. Whats the process you RDM/NIN's solo? i think my gear is ok, but my process is down. I usually slow2 and para at start, then bio2 and poison2 for DoT, and keep up stoneskin, phalanx, refresh, haste, and a en- if needed. Any suggestions would be helpful ^^

Royal Cloak is the HQ of the V. Cloak. And depending on who you ask, the V Cloak is either worth it, or just a vanity item. I say it's a vanity item.

I have 940MP with food, gear, and BLM sub. That more than does it for me, but after I finish out MP Merits and buy a few other items, I should be able to break 1k MP as an Elvaan RDM. With all that MP, all the equip body swaps I use, and the 8M price tag on the V. Cloak it's not worth it to me. Others will say it's more than worth it to them. Unless I leveled WHM or SMN, I most likely won't buy it unless I find one for like 2M some where. Which is nearly as unlikely as me leveling WHM or SMN. lol

I have the Errant stuff, I'm Elvaan so I went with the Forest Belt for the MP, and 1 less INT than Penitents. (I'm currently buying all the high ticket items for DRK, so I've not bought anything new for RDM in a while.) I have INT+47 and MND+45 with my current set up. I of course want the Lv.74 INT & MND rings. Just under 2M each last I checked, and as I just mentioned, I just dropped like 8M on DRK. I can MB in the 700's when I get the chance. (No MB in Merit TP parties.)

As far as macros, I have four sets for RDM. One set is more for soloing. Has Stoneskin, Phalanx, Haste, Refresh, WS macros, and junk like that. I have a Cure set. C2 through C4, Regen, junk like that. An Enfeebling set that has 2 macros just to load up on all that MND, a Skill Macro for when MND and base skill isn't good enough, and then the spells themselves. I then I have a Black set. 2 INT Macros, my nukes, and other INT Enfeebles. I have Dispel, and Silence on all rows so I can get to it quick.

For soloing, I go as RDM/BLM usually. RDM/DRK for Vorpal Blade fun. ^^ I have Evisceration, but a crappy Dagger, so I usually go Sword. I rarely Melee anything higher than DC, and when I do they're generally mobs with weak attack. If I solo anything higher than that, I Nuke/Sleep them.

I have a few of the Ogre pieces, I have a Amemet +1 (A new addition though, so I haven't used it as RDM.), Woodsman rings, Life Belt, Lv.56 Acc neck piece. Does pretty good for me. I stack on the MND, Stoneskin, Phalanx, Spikes (Blaze or Ice depending on what I'm fighting) En-sword, Enfeeble, DoT, and beat it to death.

I'm a little more... wreckless with my EXP than most. If I lose 2300 EXP because I had to HP, I don't care. I can solo that EXP back, or I get it back in about 15 minutes in a party. So I'll go some place with lots of links and try to kill everything I can see. Or explore a zone with out Sneak or Invis hoping/looking for something to agro me. lol But from the brief description you gave, looks like you're doing what most of us do or would do.

Paralyze II, Slow II, Gravity, Bio II, Poison II, Blind if I care, then proceed to "beat it about the neck and ears." Sometimes I don't even bother to bring my solo gear. Just do this in my AF.

NQ version is Vermillion Cloak, and yes, it can be beneficial if you're resting.

Before your first healing tick (20 seconds), Vermillion Cloak/Royal Cloak/Dalmatica(+1) will provide an extra 5MP to you. Swapping into Errant or Mahatma Houppelande before that tick will give you the extra +5/+6 hMP.

If you're REALLY insane and suffer from ADD, you can swap in and out between Refresh gear and Errant/Mahatma stuff every 10 seconds, which will give you an extra 2MP per tick from Refresh while still getting the +hMP from the Houppelande.

This is usually more effort than it's worth, but I mention it on the off chance that you ever have to do it.

You should at least get some +MP gear for Convert purposes. You don't have to wear it full time, but it can squeeze extra performance from your Convert cycle. The closer you can get to the magic 1:1 ratio, the better off you are.

Duelist's Chapeau is very nice, especially when paired with Dalmatica (+5MP/tick by yourself without a Bard or Corsair around). A some RDMs in my LS have both and their RDM performance is really amazing in end-game activities - I almost never see them Convert, since their MP flow is so high.
