  • Wierd PT last night

We had a bunch of melee + me + whm fighting colibris, and because they magic reflect and the whm could easily cover cures with the nin tank both the whm and I were meleeing. There was literally nothing for me to do except Refresh, Haste, and melee. My sword skill was way low and I had no accuracy food so obviously I contributed almost nothing. Despite the non-optimal PT for this mob we did get my first chain 6 thanks to great pulling by the theif.

Hmm. i've been thinking about picking up rdm sometime, but i've heard it can get boring at times.

But man do melees LOVE haste if you can spare it. It truly helps a party, and i can bet it helped you guys get that chain6, even if you couldn't contribute anything else.

From my understanding, and this seems to work on at all lvls, meleex3, nin tank and two support makes for an excellent pt. I don't see anything too wierd about that set up.

So a TP Burn at Lv.66? That's not bad, and would probably be pretty fun! No skillchain at all? No Enfeebles? I hear it's a random Reflect, but I've yet to give them a try. Solo or in EXP.

This might be fun for me, just being able to spam My TP, but how would this effect Absorb-TP... hmm.

From my understanding, Colabri insta-cast copy any spell cast on them. You cast an AM on them they cast it on you. You cast silence on them, they cast it on you. So if you cast Abs-TP on them they'll most likely shoot it right back at you.

Also, I've had TP burn pts as low as the dunes/Qufim. Constant chaining of T-VT mobs is always better exp then IT++. When your only down time is due to waiting for repops you know you've done something right.

They cast Silence on you? What if yours sticks? o_O
TP burn seems to be the way to go, I got chain 86 last night in Cadaevra Mire with NIN, 2XWAR, RNG, BRD and me. It was pretty insane. All I could basically do was heal, Haste and Dia II if I could get it in before the mob died. Our Ranger did a few Sidewinders for 2.8k+ on the flies there.

The PT setup wasn't what was wierd in a general sense. It was the whole situation with the colibri because I couldn't enfeeble or nuke and with all the utsusemi going around there wasn't much need for healing. That left me with meleeing, which was very very pathetic (75% miss rate, hitting for 20ish average). I got 3 skill points in sword. :D

Yes, Colibri are very interesing nuicances to fight. I don't melee either (sword skill only 144 T_T) so all I basically did was heal, nuke, and buff people.

After a few parties, I figured out that enfeebling was pretty much useless, especially when the PLD gets silenced after the one I cast on it wears (not a very fun experience...). So, I functioned as a main healer in parties with Colibri, definately a change from normal parties. I felt utterly useless while not enfeebling...but my laziness set in and I enjoyed the lack of responsibility
