Goblin pet soloing, wow

So I sort of heard some people mentioning soloing goblin pets in Bibiki Bay so I checked it out. I didn't really know what the deal was so I stupidly tried meleeing the first one, and died. It was obvious then that I was supposed to sleep nuke. After a couple deaths I bought a reraise gorget and went to town. The xp is better than PT xp if you manage to avoid dying, which is insane. I'm 62 now (started at 61) and was curious how long people have milked this for. I'm guessing the xp should be decent till at least 64 or 65. Also, I love how the pets respawn so fast.

I've never actually tried this for a means of solo EXP, however I have solo'd some of the pets when a BST was pulled during EXP in the 60's. Most of the times I had a BLM in the group that helped, and did most of the work, but other times I solo'd these. Depending on what level you are, some of these little guys are T mobs, and don't have much in the way of HP. So it's helped pull some larger chains.

Considering the link risk, and being a long way from the zone, I'm not sure I would attempt this, but I guess it could be a way to get some decent EXP solo.

I just timed myself for 1 hour. During that period I didn't die, but I did get the BST goblin once and had to run away after killing the pet. I pulled in 4300 xp without the signet ring. That's pretty darn solid considering that most PT's won't average much more than that. There's a great spot where 2 goblins roam in a very tight area, one of which is a BST. The only link/agro risk I take is from the pull. Other than that there is lots of room to run around and sleep nuke the rarab pet.

BST have been doing this for ages. It's the best xp around next to stuff that blows up. ie: bombs, dolls, snolls.

I killed Gob Pets for a while, even if they were DC/EP, mainly because I'd be really close to lvling or waiting for an invite. But the mobs are 67-69, so you can chain them til then, and afterwards, some will be DC and break your xp chain.
If you have nothing to do while seeking, just kill the pets. The only thing they seem to drop are seals.

Yah, but BSTs have their pets out and don't get the full exp either. A RDM soloing these is even more impressive than a BLM doing so (Although I have a BLM friend who actually SOLO'D things in Bibiki Bay and mind you, these weren't gob pets either and he was pulling chain 7s for some absurd amount of exp - it was way beyond anything I've ever heard about)

OP was curious if anyone else has killed pets for xp. i said it wasnt something new for bst, since bst do this all the time. i dont know where blm and rdm came into the picture but ok. thats wonderful he can chain 7. i would be very proud too.

and we do get full xp, where did you get that crazy idea? it's called /ja leave <p0>. When i was killing goblin's leeches in gustav, i was raking in 1k+ in about 5 minutes. With ring on, first kill 300, next is 420~ 3rd is 450,

You mention something about bombs. Idk if you can /leave fast enough before the bomb rocks your casba all the while you are fleeing with your life for a safe distance away from the mess.

if you are taking about a bst? yes you can /ja leave fast enough to recieve xp. There is a delay between when the bomb blows up to when it actually declaims/dies. If you use leave between this time you will get full XP.

now, if you are talking about killing a bomb with a job that doesnt have a pet, then yea, you cant. i was just comparing the xp gained from killing pets is awesome like killing things that blow up.
