Re: There is more to landing enfeebles than straight up enfeebling skill!

To back up what has been said, trolls are incredibly resistant to gravity for some reason. I often xp there with friends, and to stand a hope of landing it on the trolls, I have to equip all my enfeebling gear (I am normally main healing there, so often in my vermy). It's not just you, its the trolls!!

Against resistant types, even that doesn't save you, and in extreme cases like this you're back to a default of 5% or less success rate.
I guess this makes the most sense. If we were both dealing with a 5% chance of landing it, then I guess I can buy him being really lucky and me being really unlucky.

While it is possible for the blm to have higher enfeebling skill (my blm had higher skill than a rdm once when I was exping), this sounds like a load of bull from someone too lazy to make an earring swap macro XD

Anyway in regards to the OP, you might just want to try getting more enfeebling gear, as 298 is pretty low. 339 Enfeebling landed me every enfeeble on Fafnir, recasting as soon as each wore off, with only 6 resists for the entire fight. Sounds like dumb luck that he landed those gravity spells (by the way did you see if he used elemental seal?)

Well, I don't have the gil for the earing and my dynamis ls hasn't beaten a single beginner dynamis zone for the af2 piece, so what would you suggest? I have af1 body and the enfeebling torque. I could also put merits in enfeebling, but honestly, do you think enfeebling skill was my problem? I had 64 more enfeebling skill than him, and he landed it more than I did (if you're going with 2int=1enfeeb, he'd have to have 235 int to better my enfeebling skill, and I'm pretty sure he didn't).

(by the way did you see if he used elemental seal?)
He definately did not use elemental seal on his gravities.

            Ways to improve your accuracy:
            HQ Staff
            Elite Beret(+1)
            Nashira Crackows
            Nashira Seraweels

Well, there's also the Aureole, but good luck getting that one.

I always forget about the elite beret. I carry it around but always forget to put it on and haven't macroed it into my enfeebs yet.

Even still, I don't see how increasing my accuracy would help me when I already had 64 more skill then him.

I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

I believe you get the items from Ultima or Omega or something. Then you trade them to an NPC to get these items.

I'm sure Icemage will have more info.

All Nashira pieces are acquired by defeating Proto-Ultima and trading the various body parts that drop to an NPC in Mhaura:

                    Ultima's Heart: Nashira Manteel
                    Ultima's Claw: Nashira Gages
                    Ultima's Leg: Nashira Seraweels
                    Ultima's Cerebrum: Nashira Turban
                    Ultima's Tail: Nashira Crackows

I tried to beat Promivian-Dem once about 2 years ago. That's how far I am in CoP.

Well, now you have an incentive to go further in the storyline. That's some really nice gear that is worth working for.

Well, I'm guessing he just got lucky. About the enfeebling skill: elite beret+1 as someone else said, the earring, Master Caster Bracelets (though you can't use them in ToAU areas, have to settle for Yigit Gages), Nashira Seraweels, enfeebling merits.

                          I don't have the AF2 hat either sad as it is ;;

But now the real question? Why was the blm subbing rdm to begin with >_>

Many BLMs do for Fast Cast. Fast Cast on AM2 ... yummy.

(I forgot to also add that in the absence of RDMs, they have access to Dispel as well)

Yeah, I want to go through it, I just haven't had a chance to. Too many other things to do, and limited playing time.

Regardless, I don't think more enfeebling skill gear would've made the difference considering I already had him beat by 64 skill. If anything, I think I should be stacking up on int+ for this situation.

                                Thanatos Baselard

                                Af Body
Hands: nothing for neffeble now, will get Wise
                                Legs: Wise
                                Feet: Errant
Back: Rainbow (want to get Prism but eh...)
                                Rings: Tamas and Sapphire
                                Enfeebling Torque
Enfeebling Earing and second is Moldavite XD

I'm yet to get Tier II enfeebles and only got 1 in ice and wind acc.

Oh, and Int and Mnd won't transalate into enfeebling skill, just magic accuracy and potency
