    Well you didn't have to listen to him. I've told BLUs, and BLMs to rest through battle many times. In my parties, if you aren't the PLD, or healer, I'm not stopping the party just so you can rest. If you want to rest, then have at it, but I'm going to be killing while you're resting.

      Agreed with the above, and with BLU needing refresh. At the level I'm at its common to see BLU spamga Demon hide between skill chains, and if eeryone near the mob is /nin then that frees up the WHM to main heal + haste without using anything larger than a Regen2. -without- refresh. Any time the WHM can do that you free the BRD or the RDM or the COR for other things that make the party go hella faster,m and hella better. Either way, it only works if the BLU has MP.

        Icemage beat me to it again!! But BLU should never be left out of your cycle. Their damage is based on their MP and their TP. So if they have to rest for MP, and lost TP, or in this instance completely reset their TP, it limits them. (That being said, I think the BLU was trying to prove a point to you and the party that you need to keep them Refreshed full time, by stopping EXP flow, and wiping TP. Not proper behavior, but they were correct.)

        DRK on the other hand falls into another group. Now if you just want the Skill Ups, have tons of MP, or have a DRK how casts every spell they have, (At which point you should probably punt them anyway) then find a happy medium when you Refresh the DRK.

        As DRK58, I usually advise the RDM to either save the MP, or spend that 40MP on Hasting me. As long as I have 85MP, I'm good to keep going. For me, that's 85/235MP, (Valk Mask & 2 MP Merits) and is enough for a Stun, Absorb-AGI, and depending on the mob, Aspir.

        Use the same kind of idea with BRD/WHM. Make sure they have enough MP to help out with Status removal spells, maybe a Curaga at the end of a fight to help out the WHM and RDM with healing.

        I was in a party recently were the rdm almost systmatically skipped me with refresh for a DRK, me being a summoner. Why spend all that time refreshing ppl when u can nail them all in 1 or maybe 2 spells?
        The reason that a Refreshga would be bad has nothing to do with over writing something, or a non-MP using melee person has Refresh Effect. It comes down to balance.

        The game always walks a very fine line on balancing the jobs, all the while the player base is trying to over power the job to be better than it is. Refresh is 40MP, Haste is 40MP. With those numbers, let's take the party I had recently: PLD, SAM, THF, RDM, BLM, WHM. That's 4 MP users, coming out to 160MP right there for Refresh. WHM Hastes SAM, RDM Hastes PLD, THF, possibly themselves. That's 80-120MP. So we've just used 240-280MP a cycle. So say we add Refreshga for 100MP, and Hastega for 100MP. You've just saved 40 to 80MP that could be used to do something else, and you haven't spent all that time casking all of those spells. Now most of us RDMs would say that extra MP would warm our hearts, but most of us also know that means we can nuke more, or heal more.

        So now you have a RDM who casts two spells, and the group is Refreshed and Hasted, and our Enfeebles don't take long to cast, so extra MP, and plenty of time to do something else. Suddenly the Melee RDM peeks it's ugly head out again, trying their damnedest to feed the mob more TP. Or a party then invites two RDMs now, so one can spend 100MP to Refresh, and 100MP to Haste, and they can nuke until Convert is ready possibly costing a BLM or BRD a party invite.

        This disrupts the balance, when there are already complaints that RDMs are already too powerful. This is why Refreshga and Hastega (I know you didn't mention Hastega, but it's the logical next step.) are a bad idea.

            I haven't partied with any blus as rdm main, but I would put them above blm in the refresh order. Blus, unlike drks, need their mp to do their job, but unlike blms, they can't rest during fights.

            My order with a blu in the pt would be:

            Me (or course, I'm the best!), PLD (I dunno, I just do this. Even if they don't use that much mp and their refresh trait is doing most of the work, it's good to keep them refreshed on principle), WHM (Mr./Mrs. Downtime), then Blu then blm.

              I see it as a much higher priority than DRK, and I would refresh the BLU before a BLM any day for three reasons. They need MP to do their job, they need TP so restings not a good option and usually have a smaller pool than any other mage class. All similar reasons as to why PLD is first on the list. I would hesitate to say BLU should be next, if WHM MP were not so vital. As it is, I would (of course) try to refresh everyone, but those I would let slip are the BLM and DRK who can aspir, and who shouldn't have an MP problem unless they're spamming.
