I believe they were called Colibra anyways. They are those little pink "pelicans" near the top of Bhaflau Thickets.
I discovered them this evening in a party with my RDM. When we got to camp and I saw what they were I thought "Awwww they're cute, this is gonna be easy" after the first couple of battles I noticed the horror within.
These cute little things can recast spells at you. For example: I cast Dia II, it casts dia II on me. BLM casts water III, it casts water III back at the BLM, full force. Not to mention the fact that they are hell to enfeeble in the first place. My enfeebling magic was capped at level 61 and I still was lucky to ever land anything.
After a few battles I really got fed up, and then decided to try silencing it. Well, silence is even harder to land than all of the other enfeebles combined! About the only time I got it to land was when I either used elemental seal or if I was reeeeally lucky. I think it might have helped if I wouldn't have forgotten my justice badge (I know, I need to upgrade), but still, it was horrible.
Towards the middle and end of the party I was afraid to enfeeble it at all without it silenced because other party members were getting dia'd, poisoned, slowed, and everything else left and right. Plus this was very distracting from my refresh and haste duties.
Plus even if silence didn't work on it, it can still cast it right on someone else. One time it failed and it silenced the PLD right afterwards.
Then dispel is just plain strange with these things. I don't know what is wrong with it, but I don't want to try it again. I once tried to dispel one to see if it had any buffs, but when I casted the spell the RNG's protect got removed by it instead. It did not recast it onto the RNG, I casted the spell and saw "Lilani casts dispel. RNGs effect of protect is removed" or whatever.
Maybe it did just recast it onto the RNG and neither of us saw it, but afterwards the pt got a real kick out of it. He was like "yeah I should be fine, as long as the RDM doesn't dispel me again LOL"
Have any of you RDMs out there had a problem with these little buggers too, or is it just me?
