    Re: Avesta Wild Wild Whiskers solo - Anyone have it?

    Bio II deals more damage than Dia II, and while the more damage per hit is nice, the damage mitigation is probably superior. Poison II is critical.

    I've done this BCNM several times (I'm 9-0 overall) and can confirm the battle pattern that Macan Gadangan uses. Spell > TP move > some melee back to Spell.

    Spell always resets to Burst after he is Silenced.

    His TP moves are dangerous. It's not guaranteed that he will use Petrifactive Breath - it's just the most common one. He can use Chaotic Eye, Blaster, and Charged Whisker instead after casting Burst, or if he manages to accumulate 100+TP before he begins his next spell cycle. Chaotic Eye is no trouble, but Blaster's paralysis is devastating if you screw up, and Charged Whisker can do a few hundred points of damage.

    Maybe one of these days when I level NIN I'll give this a shot solo. Looks like a lot of fun.

      That's cool that he switches to bursts after siliencing, and prediticably does the petrify move.
      New on here, but I've been watching all of Avesta's videos. Becoming a RDM soloer is my dream in a way, but I seem to be slow on actually getting around to it. Anyways, I wanted to comment on the opening nukes. I don't think that was a failed strategy, and I don't think he went in with a couple stategies to try. He got of a good 1,241 damage off of that chainspell. It's not a lot, but it did take a chunk from its HP. The other purpose? Deal out as much damage as possible in the beginning so there is time for two converts. This way, you get a decent amount done quickly in the beginning, you use convert and switch to melee to do damage until convert is ready again, and you finish off with more nukes in the same manner as in the beginning (only without chainspell).

      Does it make sense? If you saw, he used his MP well so that the melee lasted all the way until conver was ready again and then he nuked like there was no tomorrow. I don't think there was anyway he could have melee'd from the beginning and finished within the time limit. So, I don't think it was a failed strategy or anything like that. I think it was just another part of Avesta's superb preparation and strategy.

        I agree with Raislin. He just made the best use of his mp pool, melee and convert timing ^^

            I can't access the filefront site either. Probably a temporary outage. You can try to get it from Avesta's site but, go figure, it usually has capacity problems.

            I never thought about it this way before. Knowing that Chainspell + nuking would be required to force out the last bit of damage needed to break the time limit, it makes far more sense to do it at the beginning of the battle as opposed to the end. After all, any time that your Convert timer is sitting at 0, ready to be used is mp being wasted. Better to get it out of the way and Convert as early in the battle as possible. Excellent observation!

            See, this is why I can easily say that rdm is not overpower and in need of nerfing. So very very few people are going to be able to sense intricacies like that and use them to their advantage, or even be able to, that it won't significantly impact the game.

                  haha {You're welcome.}

                  It just wasn't until after Raislin mentioned two converts that I saw the sense in it.

                    actually once you have him casting Burst he's a joke and all you have to do it not have auto-lock on and turn away from the petrify move.... only real problem is the time limit actually.

                    Double Post Edited:
                    i take that back its the chaotic eye and blaster you can turn away from lol
