Generally speaking, you won't use macros much untill Refresh, Dispell, and the elemental staves at 51. However some things you may want to have macroed:
Your highest and second highest tier Cure spells(you won't have Cure II yet, but save a slot for it)
/ma "Cure" <st>
/ma "Cure II" <st>
what <st> does is let you select the target, and since it's a friendly spell, you'll use the party buttons, F1-6(1 = you, 6= lest pt member)
Also works for regen and refresh, though you may want an /echo on Refresh letting you know recast it up.
For Dispel and mabye a few nukes, you will want /ma "Dispel" <t>. <bt> can lead you to cast the spell on the wrong target, and <st> takes to long once your casting.
For equipment, such as elemental staves:
/equip ItemSlot "Item"
For example:
/equip Main "Dark Staff"
/equip Ear1 "Antivenom Earring"
/equip Legs "Baron's Slops"
/heal
is my healing macro.
Goos luck!

A subjob is like sex, you shouldn't have it untill your 18 but if you don't have it after 21 everyone laughs at you.
It wouldn't hurt for you to get a couple macros for your enfeebling spells, too. For example, some of mine (minus the equipment swaps, since it's ele. staves which you don't have yet):
/ma "Dia II" <t>
/ma "Paralyze" <t>
/wait 7
/ma "Slow" <t> ***I always cast these two debuffs in party, really there's no reason not to have them macro'ed together, and by the time you cast both of them your Refresh recast will be up.***
/ma "Gravity" <t>
/wait 8 [I think it's 8, might want to test that and adjust accordingly though]
/ma "Blind" <t>
/ma "Poison" <t>
/ma "Silence" <t> ***This one's important, you always want to silence mage mobs.***
Plus it also doesn't hurt to have a couple elemental spells, mostly try to keep the ones that the mobs you are fighting will be weak to.
Yes, the main ones you need to know about as a RDM are /ma commands and /equip commands (and you don't even really need to know about them until you get convert at level 40, but it's a lot easier to at least have your enfeebles macroed).
To cast magic with a macro, use the command /ma "Spell Name" <t>. Like /ma "Stone II" <t> to cast stone II on a mob.
And <t> means target, meaning the thing you have targeted at the moment you press that macro. You can also use <st> for select target, meaning when you press the macro a purple arrow will point above what you have targeted and you have to press enter before the spell is casted. You can also be more specific with things like <stnpc> which will only put the purple arrow above NPCs (mobs in most cases) and <stpc> which will only select players (great for cure macros).
<me> is also great if you have a macro that is only to be used on yourself, like the en- spells. /ma "Enfire" <me> is what you would need. And if you wish to have messages in /party or whatever in your macro, here's a good way to do it:
/ma "Sleep" <stnpc>
/p Casting sleep on <lastst>!
<lastst> will put the name of the last thing you targeted. And if you use <stnpc> then that /p message will not show up until you press that enter button. So for your party, they will see Casting sleep on Pug Pugil! or whatever mobs you are fighting.
To macro a job ability you use /ja instead of /ma. So if you would like to macro Chainspell (which I do not recommend, concidering you might accidently trigger it at a bad time) you would use /ja "Chainspell" <me>. Weapon skills are macroed with /ws, like /ws "Fast Blade" <me>.
There are some other commands, but you don't really need to know them as a RDM If you have any other questions just ask or PM me ^^
