Do you have erase?

I'm at a monetary crossroads. I've been lvling whm sub to be available, and now I have access to erase. Problem is, current price is almost 800k.

I have the money thanks to doing a ks30 last saturday, but I don't want to blow almost all of it on erase. I was really hoping to lvl up some crafts with that gil.

I have a couple of high priced items, on my server at least. They are enfeebling torque (could probably sell for 2.5 mil) and marine M gloves (about 3 million). I could sell the torque and get a spider torque and have over a million left over at the price of 2 enfeebling points. The gloves are somewhat of a bigger problem because they are the best gloves in the game in my opinion besides zenith, but more importantly there's nothing that comes close at my lvl.

So, do you have erase? How useful is it? How expected are you to have it as a rdm/whm?

Ack. Thing is, I swear I saw it for 300k just a couple days ago, but the price got really jacked up two days. I might just wait and see if it'll drop (or raise )

I would have to say Erase is probably one of the biggest perks of subbing WHM regardless. I don't regret buying it, but at the same time I wouldn't say its the end of the world. Rarely does the fate of a party rely solely on the Red Mage having erase.

Just remember that people wont exactly hold you in the highest regards for scrimping on erase when they need it.

There are other benefits to subbing WHM, but most RDMs I've met(and most other jobs), say that if you don't have Erase, you may as well sub something else.

Almost the entire -na spells line and Curaga are still good reasons to sub WHM.

It definitely is good to have. If you merit on sheeps in lufaise meadow for example erase is big reason to sub whm for. Also when you do later missions both ZM and CoP there will be many effects you will really want to erase. Or dynamis bosses.

To be truthful, I haven't picked Erase up yet myself. I simply haven't found myself in enough situations where rdm/whm is requested of me (and I generally don't choose to sub whm on my own) that I found it worth buying Erase. If that changes and I find myself rdm/whm more and more often though, I'll pick it up.

I have Erase. I bought it as I was catching my WHM sub up, I think I've used it more as RDM/WHM than I did as WHM, so far.

If you're not using Erase at all in exp parties, something is wrong. Many monsters towards end game throw out status down effects like they're going out of style and some of these can really hurt the tank (VIT down, Evasion down) and melees (STR down, Attack down) and for everyone (Gravity-ga, Accuracy down)

If Divine Veil is not up for the WHM and if the RDM is subbing WHM and has access to Erase, then there won't be problems. The problem will come when there's 3-5 cries for Erase and only the WHM to have to dispense this (Or in some situations, no one to do so at all)

Simply put, don't gimp yourself if you're going to gimp your party. You may think that because you only level WHM to 37 that you don't need Erase. However, you're forgetting that your main job is already 64+ and at this point, not having the important spells will not be overlooked by your party members and LS mates.

Hmm. Well, yeah I agree that one of the main benefits of subbing whm is erase. I think I'll just sub blm until erase goes down a bit and then buy it.

My old LS used to schedule times to do BCNM40 Steamed Sprouts runs for all the WHMs (or those subbing /WHM) in our LS. That's how I got mine. Unless an update has changed that BCNM (it's been a long time, the leader quit the game and broke the shell), that one drops Utsusemi: Ni also. We would have the WHMs /random for who got the first one, second one, etc. The rest of the items were sold and the gil was split between everyone who didn't get Erase. Sometimes we'd include Ni in the /random too, if more than one person needed it.

You might consider gathering some of your LS together to get a few runs done. I wouldn't suggest this kind of thing with anyone other than LS mates that you know and trust. We did it that way because we knew the person was going to USE the scroll, not sell it. Anything not used, we sold and split.

BCNM40 Royal Jelly (3 person) drops Erase, Utsusemi Ni, and Archer's Ring. RDM+DD+DD works wonders in it. The DDs kill jellies from left to right while the RDM keeps using Bind and Gravity on the three jellies on the right, and curing as needed.

Or right to left, it matters not. This is also my most favorite BC, since it of course features the RDM and 2 DDs. No need for tanks or an uppity BRD like that other BC. Since the OP is a RDM, heck, now he just needs to find 2 other DDs and he should be good to go.

Sell marine M gloves. Buy erreant gloves or do dynamis for af2 gloves. Buy erase. Problem solved!

Are you crazy? Marine M Gloves are the the best gloves RDM can get that aren't Rare/Ex.

Yeah I really like the gloves. I might sell them for errant when I can use errant (still just 69, and errant aren't as good anyways), but there's nothing close at my lvl, and I really don't feel like I should sell the torque (even if it's just 2 pts of enfeeb, it's kinda a rdm thing).

I'll see about getting the ls together for it. Otherwise, I'll just try to wait for the price to go down.
