Re: The hunt for Barstone
check the lower jeuno magic store. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Re: The hunt for Barstone
Barsleep or Barstone? Either way the answer is the Lower Jeuno magic shop.
If you have trouble finding another spell, do a search for it in the ffxi.somepage.com items database.

Re: The hunt for Barstone
Thank you both.. I was heading to bed when i decided to post real quick... barstone is what i'm after... it'll be real handy for soloing my THF/RDM (currently leveling as RDM/THF) in the Windurst areas. =^.^=

Re: The hunt for Barstone
You know my LS asks the same thing... Why amagic weilding thief? The answer is simple... It is a combo I enjoy roleplaying....but besides that.. I don't get much consective game time. So a THF that can heal and enhance herself is a bonus in my book... I know that tha in game mechanics don't favor the combo but... oh well. not going to stop me from trying to make it work and i'm having fun trying...

Re: The hunt for Barstone
Well yeah thf/mage is decent for soloing. I was mainly refering to subbing thf on your rdm. The thf provides absolutely nothing to rdm when subbed. Roleplaying is good and all, but when it comes down to leveling, you might want to consider a different sub than thf for your rdm. It just doesn't add anything. Could save you a lot of time leveling if you choose something else.Whm 75 Blm 37 Brd 75 | Bastok Rank 10 | Whm > Rdm

Re: The hunt for Barstone
Moved to Red Mage forum, since Barstone isn't a white mage spell.
---
To the original poster: Nothing wrong with playing the way you want, just be prepared for some negative reactions when you start partying with other players and they realize that you haven't put your best foot forward.
There's a time and place for roleplaying, but not when you've got 5 other people risking their time and enjoyment on the choices you make. Those people are going to be somewhat unhappy with you if you show up with an inappropriate support job to a party.

Re: The hunt for Barstone
Not trying to beat a dead horse!
But...
People will naturally think you are farming if they see you LFG with THF sub. They will probably ask what you plan to sub in PT and might not invite you if you tell them THF. It's true that at level 12 it might not matter, but if you plan to PT to high levels with RDM, it would be a good idea for you to level up WHM or BLM to sub. There will be cake.

Re: The hunt for Barstone
I understand where you all are coming from with the combo for party use... But currently I have not the time to PT... I'm lucky when I get more than a2 hours play time. So yu can see why PT issues don't bother me... I've had his game since Sept of last year.. and logged roughly 5days of play time...But when it comes to the time to PT i'm usually in THF/RDM mode which puts me currently 20/10... so a THF that can help cure in a pinch is good for PT...But as i said... not much time to play consectively means alot of solo time...
Edit: PS. Icemage, I hadn't realized Barstone was a solely RedMage Scroll...as it is sd I recall under White magic at AH... MY poligies.. I will remember to post here in future

Re: The hunt for Barstone
you can still get the barstonera, which is a whm version of the spell. Affects all PT members. The Rdm version is a self only.
If you're soloing, enjoy all combinations ^^ not hurting anyone. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.
