My sword is 121, dagger is 88, and club 79. I haven't really picked up any nifty weaponskills for solo my ? is are there good weaponskills worth going with? If so can you list the modifiers on each ws? I'm tempted to do the sleep>enfeeble>nuke for solo exp

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
I would recomend working on both your dagger and sword skill. Get a skill up party around your level and kill things that would have been EM or higher at the level that your skill is at. Weapon skills are not that great use in standarad pt setups, but when you get to 75 alot of options open up. My thief friend and I can duo the dhamals in Bibiki for about 3k xp a hour. And at that level you can have Savage Blade whitch is great at even 100% TP.
No Ifs Ands or Buts about it.

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
/war /drk /pld you get to use vorpal blade @ sword skill 200 I think. Altho I don't use these sub jobs that often. And when I do use /drk, it will be for stun not for WS. It's cool to use for fun anyway.
level 71-72 you can learn eviscaration dagger quest WS
level 74 you can learn savage blade.
I only get to use eviscaration when helping frriends breaking their weapon. Because it can open distortion (evis > viper for example)
when farming with /thf I only use savage blade. It's a better version of fast blade kinda...
some say dagger helps solo elemental mobs with low delay+en+MP draining WS. I like to just use burning blade on them however. double attack from joyuseThere are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
Im trying to have an rl friend lv war for double attack when im not playing so i can solo skill up faster. Is the double attack rate better than joyeuse's? Then enhancing sword would be stronger if it was
I plan to solo skill up to 150 or so then i can hit steel shells or was it robber crabs at Boyahda.
What about Circle blade and Cyclone? I know aoe ws have to be really strong right?
I appreciate the info guys. I am so tired of getting powerful ws that i can't use ; ;

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
circle blade is weak. cyclone is a lot stronger.
joyuse double hit rate is around 40-50% I think... it comes out really often. Haven't tried /war yet... now that I think about it, I always want to test /war for like over a year nowThere are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
Base Double Attack rate is 10%, both on WAR main and sub. It won't stack with the weapon proc (unless you're using Virtue Stone weapons) though so the overall total is less. If Joyeuse procs 50% of the time and DA procs 10%, the total would be 55% unless I did the math wrong, since DA would only be able to proc on half of the swings. That's just what the numbers are telling me, though, I WISH I had a Joyeuse, let alone be high enough to use one XD It'd be nice if someone tested for the exact proc rate on Joyeuse though *wink wink, nudge nudge*

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
I'm pretty sure Joyeuse is at or close to 50%, as Jei mentioned. I have one, and it kicks in almost exactly half the time. Not an empirical test to be sure, enough to prove to me that it's definitely the best DPS weapon for red mages.

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
well on the subject of weapons is enhancing sword worth getting if there is the all powerful joyeuse? I mean yes you could DW both but if you use G. shield is one combo better than the other?
what is good endgame dagger as well?

enhancing sword is for show. that's my take. not worth at all unless you're really rich and want it for the sake of collection. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

Re: Weapon skills worth investing in?
I've duoed with a friend who has enhancing, and joy outparses it. I think Enhancing sword has some value, however, against mobs that you don't want to give a ton of TP to. Think Sewer Syrup, those types of mobs.
In response to the OP, the only WS's I used when soloing are Burning Blade, Spirits, and soon Savage Blade.

After watching that Avesta video, I've been poisoned with the assumption that what 1 RDM can do solo, 6 RDMs can easily do in half the time.
And I don't think that particular sword is for show. It looks and sounds rather investment worthy. With En-spells being reapplied constantly, and some magic accuracy merits, I would be inseperable with it if I ever got one. But if you are rich and can afford to buy a Enhancing Sword, why not invest into getting Excalibur? 43 Base damage weapon with it's own WS and fairly quick atk speed.
And the Joyeuse double attack rate is indeed higher than WAR's ability. I subbed my 36WAR for eldieme one time, double attack occured so very rarely. It seems to kick in alot when my main job is WAR, but as sj WAR, I think there may be some hidden reduction to the ability.
And invest into weapon skills, yes. Because, when your RDM finally hits 75, or whatever level you cease to level it beyond, you'll find that soloing solely on magic nukes is going to be redundantly boring. Nuke, sleep, rest, refresh maintenance, keeping stoneskin and phalanx up...... worrying about how much time there is left until your buffs wear off, BORING. It's even more boring than being in a EXP PT as a refresh dispenser.Altaeciana:75RDM/40BLM/71WHM/40SMN/37NIN/37DRK/40RNG/37WAR
