  • Renarudo's Maat Mashin'

Ok, so I'm lvl 69, Enfeebling is capped, I got some nice gear, and I'm itching to show gramps how we do things nowadays.

First Mistake: Going in on Firesday.

I run in naked, I had the macros ready. I have an Echo Drop Macro, a Vile Elixer Macro, and a Yagudo Drink macro. I trimmed my spell list to only spells i knew i'd cast:

    Ctrl:
    Dispel
    Refresh
    Stoneskin
    Phalanx
    Blink
    Echo Drops
    Yagudo Drink
    Vile Elixer
    Convert
    Chainspell

    Alt:
    Cure4
    Slow
    Para
    Silence(Maybe)
    Gear1
    Gear2
    Gravity
    Bind
    Sleep1
    Sleep2

Gear1 and Gear2 Macros put me into a full set, missing only the rings, which I have macroed into the spells directly. I'm hyped to smack gramps around, so I talk to him. Cutscene with Wolfgang, he tells me to bring a Testimony. So I trade it to him, and confirm, and he warps me to Waughroom Shrine. After this, I trade my Testimony to the Seal there and enter arena.

Wierd thing I noticed, I still had my Testimony after this. . . Anyway, as I'm running I put my gear back on and I stop when I can see him and eat my Melon Pie +1. He just finished casting Enblizzard, so I throw Sleep2 at him.

    Resisted. He runs at me.

Ren: "Oh shit, wth? wow, he's pretty fas-"
Maat:*Thawk Thwak* (does like, 110 to me first hit and 70 the second)
Ren: "And he hit's hard too" -_-

    Sleep1.

    Resisted

    Ren: -_-
    Maat: *Thwak Thwak*
Ren: (HP in the Red Zone now)

    Gravity

    Resisted

    Maat Cast Blizzard

    Ren(down to 140hp)

At this point i'm considering my options. A) Use Vile Elixer and make a valiant battle from behind? B) Bend over and take it up the rear? C)Stand there making decisions.

I choose C, at which point, he hit's me again and I drop. It had to be the saddest fight of my entire life ;.; Reminds me of when I fought Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts at lvl 30 and they didnt even get to the chorus of the song before I died. I Remember calling up some college friends of mine for help, and they said "Are youy level 100 yet?" to which I responded "no" and they said "that's your first problem. Call back when you are."

Kinda like that. Except I'm lvl 69 -.- when the cap is 70.

Ok, I still have my Testimony (for some God-Given strange-ass reason. . . ) and I didnt lose exp, so I'm gonna shrug this one off and come back during Darksday. In the meantime I'm gonna practice getting smacked around by some crabs in Terrigan.

lol The biggest problem seems to happen when people panic, but yeah you got pretty screwed getting sleep one AND two resisted, as well as gravity.
Also - I think you keep the testimony but it won't work anymore, I don't know i'm just a n00b.

              Re: Renarudo's Maat Mashin'

Maat just got assraped! I wanted pay back for my striking defeat, and the old man was the only one around.

Lvl 70, capped enfeebling. I had 70+25 INT with a Melon pie and NQ staves. Went on Darksday.

I go to BCNM, eat pie, rest up and enter. Stoneskin and Blink, and I run up to him. Dispel, got rid of enwater, Sleep1 and it stuck.

Run a bit to the side, Dispel, nothing. the Gravity and it sticks. I hit him with the first Aero3. He start casting Water3 on me, so I cast Sleep 1 and he falls asleep. I put Blink Back up and Hit him with Aero3 again. He wakes up and cast Enwater. I cast sleep1 and he falls asleep.

I use a Yagudo drink and start casting Bind on him. Bind Sticks then I cast Aero3 on him.

He wakes up and does Chainspell and hit me with Fire2. Shadow Absorbed it. I cast sleep on him, he cast gravity on me. My sleep resistts and his gravity wore. He cast Shell4 and I hit him with Sleep2. I dispel his Shell.

              Cancel Stoneskin, recast, recast blink.

His Bin wore, he woke up and did Diaga2 (WTF!?!? NO FAir!!!!!!). Cancelled out Blink and i hit him with Sleep1 again. I do Blink and pop a Vile Elixer, brings me up to 280ish.

Another Aero3 for 377. He runs up and hits both my shadows, resists sleep one. Hit's Stoneskin and I cast Sleep 2 on him, which sticks.

I run to the other side and Cast Blink (Enhancing magic went up .3 to 228, lol) Cancel Stoneskin and recast.

i'm preparing Chainspell, so I want to keep him in one spot while I nuke his ass. I cast Bind on him and it sticks. Gravity resist, Silence Resist and Bind wears off. I have 60MP left, so I cast Refresh and Chainspell. I convert and Cure3 then he starts casting Aero3 on me. I hit him with Aero3 then I hit him with Aero3 again and he gives up. And my last Aero3 goes through, lol.

Ok, thoughts on this whole fight. Darksday helped a LOT and so did having capped Enfeebling. For some reason, he was a retarded monkey when he fought me, but I'm not complaining. Here was my notable INT gear:
AF Hat- INT3 Elemental10 Fast Cast. Basically, perfect
AF Body - For Enfeebling +15
              2 Zircon Rings - INT6
              Magic Cuisses - INT3
              2 Cunning Earring - INT2
              Morion Tathlum - INT1
              Royal Knights Belt - INT2
              Red Cape +1 - INT3
              Enfeebling Torque - Enfeebling +7
              Elemental Torque - Elemental +7

Aside from the uber expensive neck pieces, nothing too outragous. This Gear with the Melon Pie gave me +25INT. I believe w/o BLM sub I was 70+25

All Aero3 were 377 and I hit him 7 times before he was done in. Possibly 6 times, with him giving up b4 the last one hit. I get 829MP if I switch out Zircons for Electrums. Meaning that it's possible for me to run in there on Darksday again, Sleep, Dispel, Bind, Silence and Chainspell Aero3 him. Since I've beaten him, he's going to be my bitch now, and I'm going to test things out on him.

Would you recommend macroing a Gramary cape in for the enfeebles? How about Pumpkin pie(unless Melon pie is just better)? I don't plan on taking this fight on 'til 70 myself(8 levels left!), but I'm keeping in mind what's necessary all the while.

Gramary Cape is only Magic Acc+1, hence, you'll see less of an effect than if you had Red Cape+1.

If you don't have the Red Cape, the Gramary will be fine. Otherwise, I don't see it making much of a difference

                  Pumpkin Pie's stats are 40MP INT3
                  Melon Pie is 25MP INT4
                  Rolanberry is 50MP INT2

It might be ok to sacrifice 1 INT for more MP, but in all seriousness, it's best to go for as much INT as possible, because Sleep and Sleep2 are the backbones of the strategy, with Aero being the hard fist

How about items such as the Enfeebling, Elemental, and Healing earrings(+3 for each, respectively)? I imagine those might be a decent help, unless there's better to fill the earring slots.

                      Re: Renarudo's Maat Mashin'

Well, If yo can afford them, go nuts. Honestly, I didnt have them, and before I fought Maat, I went so far as to even buy Druid's Slops (lvl64*i think- Elemental Magic +4 Healing Magic+4)

And Adding skill would be very helpful. However, it's a bit excessive. Maat is hard, but he doesnt require gear that cost into the millions! (the lvl 30 earrings you speadk of- Elemental is up to 5mil and Enfeebling is up to 15mil, if they're even in stock)

Stick with the Cunning or Morion Earrings and you'll be fine.

                        Ouch, 5 and 15 mil? They're 2-3mil on Ragnarok, I guess I got lucky.

I did something similar, but had int+5 or something lol. He never resisted any nukes, and only two sleeps. No elixers, just 5 NQ ethers, a few yagudos, and a snoll gelato (something like a 70MP boost). No morion, no thalium, no fencer's... only expensive things I had were my enfeeb/elemental torque, and astral rings. I did borrow my friend's HQ staffs however...

Total cost was about 50k in medicine/food items. I was really cheap my first two times before I beat him on the third. First try I got slaugtered before I could use anything (resisted all spells but a few sleeps). Second try I didn't even use anything except food and yagudos and nearly beat him, except he ashuran-ed twice in a row (cheater), missing the chance to get in one nuke that would have nailed him. Third I just added some ethers to reduce the need to sit and rest MP and won.

I never used chainspell in any of the fights.

I didnt need to chainspell either, but I had full MP and he had half HP, so I decided to not take any chances

And we took different battle approaches because you seemed to be straight otherwise except for MP, which you took great precaution to ensure wasnt a problem. INT isn't really a problem for Taru's, neither is MP. But if we get resisted, we have less HP to save us. I'm sure I'd have went down in one Asuran, whereas you needed two, lol
