... and again, the entire point was: he died the moment he got aggro from anything else. Air elemental. Crab. Whatever. The only way he was able to do it was he had a huge crowd watching to cover the spawns, as a Bind/Nuke strategy is extremely space-intensive. Not to mention being lucky that the RMTs just didn't try to MPK him (though I suppose having a female avatar may have helped there).

As was mentioned, you could probably do it with some luck and a lot of people clearing aggressives out of your path, but that's not something to count on, even if you do everything else right. And if you've got 20+ people clearing, I don't consider that to be "solo".

Well part of soloing Guivre is dealing with the adds you get. Any alliance or party that fights him has to deal with them, so if you're fighting Guivre and someone helps you by killing the adds then well..it's not really soloing it I guess. You're still getting help.

I actually don't have an opinion on it just stating what Icemage was getting at. :p

IceMage's definition: Solo: Alone completely, no witnesses. Doing everything by yourself. No raise IIIs from onlookers. No one to cast a cure even if they don't. No one to handle adds or pops.


what Icemage will accept and only accept is someone making a vid of them being the only person in Kuftal Tunnel and then Soloing Guivre and able to handle adds or be careful to not get them. maybe he'll let it slide not being the only person in the zone, but if the vid shows anyone handling any mobs during this, even those xp'ing, then since you had help, you didn't solo, because solo means alone.

maybe he isnt that harsh, but when you go off solo, like "solo till 10" do you rely on others to handle aggro/adds? or do just hope there will be none?

and regarding topic, besides bragging rights, why? self challenge? if you succede and are the only one, and you let it slip that you did, regardless of your intentions, it will end up for bragging rights. only those who are pure of intent won't tell anyone if they succede. you may give pointers like "this is what i recommend..." but "i did this and i won..." will ruin any self-mastery you had accomplished.

lmao .... ya thats really gunna happen someones gunna be in kuftal shouting ok i don't care if ur getting experiance or not u all have to leave because i'm making a video and if any1 is shown killing stuff it won't be "solo" on my part lol so every1 find somewhere else to level !!!! ................... what do u think people are gunna say to that >.>

The point here is to really claim soloing something, you should be able to run in there anytime Guivre is up and do it, np. There aren't ALWAYS people there that could help with link control, if that makes it impossible to solo Guivre then you obviously "cant solo it" at that point in time. Now granted, that is cool to be able to solo something the difficulty of Guivre even with a little help on link control, but its still not "technically" solo . . .

People sometimes clear goblins in Yhoator or Yuhtungha Jungles for XP parties that their friends are in. Would you consider those "unassisted" parties?

just another way of "powerleveling." they aren't throwing in cures but keeping you die from random aggro is also part of "pl'ing" so they're still doing half of the job.
