Heya we got aggroed from a water element in Crawlers Nest yesterday..
(pt level 45 element level 52-54)

we were fighting a beetle, party was
RDM, RDM, WHM, PLD, DRK
yeah only 5 of us.

at 70% health we got aggro and sleeped the water element.
going on with sleeping until the beetle went down, stoneskin was my best friend this time ^^

the whm hold the element on silence

pld hold hate all the time
drk used magic and abilities till no end ^^
both rdm had to use convert after a few and with silenced elemente

the fight last nearly 10 minutes and lots of regen/refresh spells

got 300 EXP (empress band)

Good work! Having the 2 RDMs really helped there.

Today in Kuftal Tunnel, RNG accidentally brought two Robber Crabs with her. BRD slept it, but it only lasted for about 10 seconds. I then slept it, and lasted another 10-15 seconds. BRD tries to sleep again, but it resists. They try again and resist. I Elemental Seal and Sleep II it, and it only lasts for about 15-20 seconds. While trying to save our NIN tank from the crab they were tanking, the second one wakes up and tears into my butt! Before I know it, I'm laying on my back in the dirt.

The BRD tries again to sleep it, and it's resisted. At this point they call for help and everybody in the area comes to wipe out this Super Crab! I've never seen a mob resist so many Sleep attempts.

In the end, a WHM came around and Raise III'd me! All said, I gained about 5k EXP in that party and hit Lv.53 before I had to head to work! Pretty darn good party!

wow, ever since i've got my dark staff i've NEVER had sleep stick shorter than 30 secs.

Usually it lasts for about a minute or three nowadays

some mobs have huge sleep resistence.. other have lullaby resistence

but i don`t think crabs arew one of these?!?!

so thats bad luck with some sleeping fails

Hmm, 52, those crabs could be hard to sleep at that level. I seem to remember fighting them a tiny bit higher.
Fighting high level elementals in a party can be a huge pain, largely because of the physical damage resistance. :<

All I have to say is RDM rules, never once have I been unhappy with my RDM. I still love to play all RDM team on FF for NES.

Heck, even BEFORE I got all my Staves, I'd never had a problem with this. So I was shocked too! Then again a number of those Crabs were pretty mean! I couldn't believe how rough it was! Then again, we had a rough time killing crab, due to most of the party being Lv.52. Once we got into a grove we were fine though.

I did have a Armet Beetle in the Kings Tomb only stay asleep for 30 seconds today after Sleep II. Party was interesting to be honest with ya:

I was actually the SATA buddy for Viper Bite! I've seen some place before a RDM being a SATA buddy with Stoneskin. I have Enmity-8, and it only turned on me once, and I know at least 3 of those Viper Bites were 600dmg+! Maybe that PLD was just that good! To bad we had a real problem chaining to start.

That's the thing that's cool about FFXI is you get those odds times when things happen that probably shouldn't. It sucks at the time but they are the events we remember and talk about most.
