NIN is an excellent sub if you're soloing.

Other than that, stick with a WHM or BLM sub if you want PT invites.

Id say for rdm/nin soloing mithra has the advantage cause of higher agi/dex. Their mnd is rather low though.

AGI/DEX amounts to squat unless you are a THF. The myth of mithras' huge accuracy bonus over other races because of DEX/AGI is false.

Well, if you just really want to be Rdm/Nin, I'd advise using a Tarutaru. Without a mage subjob, your MP and Int/Mnd will suffer. Even with a melee sub, Taru can still have a perfect convert ratio... tho if you were gonna go with any non-MP sub I'd advise /brd at 50 .

I'd listen to Jei though, you won't be getting very many parties as Rdm/Nin... it'd be best to go /whm or /blm.

I can't tell you which race to choose, but I can tell you the Elvaan look the best... in EVERYTHING.

Seriously, they're f***ing sexy whether meleeing or casting! The only time they manage to look goofy is an Elvaan THF using Flee!

I seriously believe SE was biased toward the Elvaan when making this game. Everything they seem to do, they do with style...

Race does matter...at least when you are playing a galka mage. It can be done but you have to put up with alot from some players (dunes is horrible..gets better after though). You also sink alot of money in mp gear and food. It can be tough as you spent alot of time with mp envy until you get better gear (cast...rest...cast...rest)...lol.

I'm playing an Elvaan mage this time round and found it alot more enjoyable. BurningPanther is right Elvaan look cool when casting especially black.

It's all about preference. I think humes fare a bit better in melee situations than Mithra, but Mithra have a larger pool of MP and caster stats.

that's pretty harsh. One of the good things about this game is you can mix and match jobs...
Who cares if it is popular or not?
I, at least, don't play for a popularity contest.
As as for racial choice? Shoot try something different; it'd be fun.

Um.. I guess you guys might like how elvaan look casting, but frankly I think they look ridiculous Only Elvaan motion I like is attacking, particularly with Great Swords.

60% of the elvaan players i know changed their models cuz they couldnt stand the emotes.

elvaan is by far the gayest race in ffxi. just for the record.
