    Hello,
    i`m currently 41 RDM. (Taru)

What would you prefare as food in exp PT.

I thought about Brain Stew. It it overpowerd for my level??

how much is this on your server? If it is available...

my base mnd is not the best, i have about +14 mnd or so.

my base int is very good, taru.. ^^

does the more mnd + int sounds nice or should i stack with mnd only food??

    Re: EXP PT Food

Slow and paralyze are based on mnd. The more mnd you have, the more effective they will be. If you can afford it however, then go with brain stew. You should have plenty of mp as taru, and the extra int can help your int based enfeebles like poison, blind, and gravity. But since you'll probably be using slow and paralyze more often, and taru have less mnd than others, I'd go for the mnd if you can't afford brain stew.

But you want to choose food depending on the situation and how you perform. If you find you don't have enough mp to last you till convert or you're in a party where you're burning mp like crazy, choose a food that boosts mp like pies, marron glace, Snowy Rolanberry or orange kuchen. Glace, kuchen, and snowy are % based and become more effective the more mp you have, so it's probably better to stick with pies at this level since they will probably provide you with a bigger boost for less cost.

If you find your slow and paralyze are getting resisted too much, rely on mnd increasers like witchkabobs.

If you need to be a primary nuker in the party, apple or melon pies and their +1 versions are best. Try to cater your food choices to the situation. I can tell you that I've found witchkabobs to be a good general all around food. The mnd boost helped me out a lot as mithra, and the Hmp and small mp boost didn't hurt either. The important thing is to be able to adjust depending on the situation and use what works best depending on your role in the party.

EDIT: If you feel you can't carry around more than one type of food, then something like brain stew works well since it raises a lot of stats. Otherwise, try to pick a food that enhances your strength as rdm if that's the only food you can carry. RDMs are mostly invited for refresh and enfeebles. Since you should have enough mp as Taru, and since the most important enfeebles are based on mnd, support yourself with mnd boosting food. That, along with swapping out mnd and int equipment should make you a very capable rdm in my opinion.

In the lower lvls I used melon pies if I was going to be required to nuke or mushroom stew if I was main healer. As a 71 taru rdm, the only thing I worry about is regening my mp. So cookies are what I use now. Ginger for exp and Wizard for Gods/HNM's/etc.

        Re: EXP PT Food

At Lv.40 I had MND+20, and I'm also Elvaan. I also had INT+15, and ate Melon Pies for the INT boost and the MP boost.

Now at Lv.49 I have MND+25 and INT+21 and I still eat Melon Pies. Usually my Elvaan MND (52) plus my gear (MND+25) helps me land most all my Enfeebles. But as of lately I've been having a lot of trouble landing MND based Enfeebles. Parayze and Slow are putting me in fits, but Poision II and Gravity aren't a problem at all.

I plan to do some BCNMs so I can afford my Promise Badge which would give me 2 more MND, and I'm gonna start eating all the Witchkabobs I've been making. And see how that works out for me.

Personally I think for your Taru INT and MP, Witchkabobs would most likely work very well for. That's what I'd suggest.

TGM brings up a good point though, the hMP effect from Cookies are great, but for me I need more MP and INT. Especially since lately people have decided I'm actually a WHM and not a RDM.

Last night's party was really bad. Haste & Refresh PLD and do some Enfeebling while doing WHM duties. BLM with 80% MP sending rude tells and party messages for Refresh. PLD was tanking his butt off, never lost hate from two BLMS, and they're requesting Protect and Shell. I was having real trouble keeping up with MP. So the BLMs only got Refresh if they were under 350MP and we had no problems doing Chain #5s. Only one person seemed to have a problem with this.

In this instance, cookies probably would have served me better, but honestly with all the casting I was doing, I never had much time to /heal.

          Re: EXP PT Food

At 41 I concentrated on trying to have HP/MP as close to each other for convert Which, as a Tarutaru, my hp/mp was that way without eating anything.
Anyway, mushroom for MND, pies for INT, which ever you prefer will be up to you. Or you can try sweet rice cake, they're cheaper than mushroom on my server.

Lately I've been using Goblin Mushpot for XP parties, as my paralyzes have been getting resisted alot on IT++ cockatrice and Toramas.. frustrating to have to cast those spells over and over. Int based enfeebs have been landing fine for me, just recently dinged 64 so we'll see if this spider torque is worth it.

Goblin mushpot is about 1500 each, lasts 3 hours and gives +10 MND.. (Please check it)

I sort of take an alternate stance, using Ginger Cookies about 80% of the time for faster resting. If it wears, I just recast, or if it doesn't wear, I have mp for other uses. I stuff myself with Sweet Rice Cakes otherwise. Occasionally I'll use Rice Dumpings if I need to melee for some wierd reason--e.g. promyvions, missions, soloing. If you're main healer or healing a lot, Ginger Cookies are pretty much the only way to go.

Int and mnd boosts seem to have little effect once you get staffs. If I need to pick between then two, I prefer mnd to ehance slow, para and haste--probably the most important spells.

Does MND enhance Haste? This is the first I've heard of this. But if it does, I can put my MND+25 to work. I just use what ever gear I was earing at the time. I don't bother to switch anything in to cast it. But if MND makes a difference it's time to put that MND to work.

                    Re: EXP PT Food

                    thanks for all the advice
i`ll try some of these, but can`t try out staffs or the haste thing right now ^^

i think i have to upgrade some equipment too
                    at 43 red cape +1

my hp/mp is nearly the same, so conver works yust fine
brain stew cost about 20K >.<

it seem that i have quite more problems with my mnd based spells, they got resisted a lot (nearly every third spell).
for food i have everytime several food with me, cookies, mushrooms, melon pie+1.
i tried mushrooms yesterday, still i was the meaning i get resited too much (there comes my idea, upgrading equip ^^)
i`ll also try Goblin mushpot next time.
mp regen is not the problem as long as we find a whm, convert was most of the time ready when i needed it.

enfeeble will get a lot easier once you can get the elemental staff at 51. And much easier again with the AF body at 58. So don't panic about it yet ^^
