Joyeuse, My story.

After getting the ToD last night I woke up early (well early for me on a Saturday) and went to see a squid about a sword. There was a Nin, Mnk, and RDM down there killing, so I just hung out.

Just after 11 est Chary popped and they tried to take it. RDM went down right away. I raised him and cured and hasted the NIN from outside their pt. Well the nin went down pretty quick and the mnk followed. I had my buffs up so I tried to escape when he headed towards me.\

My buffs lasted all of 3 hits, and he stopped my escape. {Hello!} {Chainspell} {Escape} {Macro} {Nice to meet you!}. Made it out with 16 hp left. I cured up and headed back in to raise the 3 of them.

The RDM asked me if I had anyone coming. I asked in the ls, and even the crickets were quiet (it was still early). So I told him no. They invited me anyway and told me they had people coming. The RDM sent me a tell saying he wanted me to lot with him if they killed it. I asked him if he was sure, and he told me that I had helped them and he was sure.

Well about 30 minutes later we have 3 nins, 1 rng, 2 rdm, 1 thf, and 1 mnk there. We got him to about 55% before there were some nasty AoE deaths. We used the strategy of the melees killing everything else for TP then using WS on Chary, that way his TP gain was minimal. We almost got back up, but my gravity and bind were wearing too quick, and we all wiped.

Enter 3 ppl from my LS (2xwhm and 1xSmn). They all came and helped raise and got ready for round 3. After waiting for the main nin tank to get over his R0 issues, we went back too it. Much faster this time with whms to help with AoE damage.

We killed and I lotted right away, 617. Not bad, but beatable.

The other RDM waits a bit to lot.

I held my breath as one other person has mentioned lotting earlier. They all passed.

Azazael obtains the Joyeuse!

I can't tell you how happy I am, this is one of the few pieces of gear that I have wanted since for as long as I can remember.
I was very happy to see that there are still nice people in the game, the other pt could have easily not let me join.

congrats ^^ welcome to the fun world or joyeuse.

my story was opposite. A BRD was there unable to kill the NM but asked to join my alliance. I let him join eventually but I won the lot.

Wow, that's quite the story. Amazed that another LS let you lot like that. Guess helping others pays off in the end even in video games.

Congrats. How long did you camp in total day wise?

Total days I would say probably 10. There were lots of times that I would be down there to get ToD, and then not have people around to help the next day. There were a few days that I was down there and chary completely missed his window, which was frustrating because those were usually the days I had the firepower with me to take it.

I was happy to see Karma work though

There were also many time when I'd get the ToD and not have the ability to bring people down. So satisfying when you finally get it though.

Congratulations!
You spent more time down there than me, but at least you got it in the end. ^^
I spent about 6 days down there logging only for pops while our LS monopolised him and I never won a lot. Hehehe. In total our LS has got about 13 people the sword so far.

when i got my joyeuse my heart skipped a beat when i got it. granted it was my ls who helped me kill it. but wow, the feeling of getting something that you've always wanted is extremely thrilling.

then we ran to fight fafnir. i died.

there's a price to pay for everything
