  • What food do you eat at 75?

    For as long as I can remember, I've eaten nothing but Melon pies for level ups, missions, Dynamis, etc.

    Are other RDMs eating other foods that are better for special occasion and for regular use (Not sushi for skill up or solo)? Thanks.

    I've always been a fan of Witch Kabobs and Mushroom Stew. As I'm a Taru, +Mnd is more important than +Int. The +hMP and -Enmity is pretty neat too. Goblin Mushpot might be better but I never used them really.

    If it's something really special going on or I'm in a party where I plan on staying for a long time I'll eat a Brain Stew (if there are any on AH). The +5 to Int and Mnd and +3 to hMP is makes it the best food around (I think).

      For a while I was eating Rolanberry Pie's but after leveling up cooking to make juices I use Melon Pies aswell.

        I was using rolanberry pies for a while but I recently switched to snoll gelato and I'm really liking the extra mp. They're a bit more expensive but it's worth it to me, elvaan rdm's mp is naturally quite low but with my mp gear and gelato I have around 630mp at 58, which I'm pretty happy with. I do kinda miss the int from melon pies, but I've found that extra mp to be more useful in general. My MB's still do pretty nice damage, so I'm not too worried about losing a few points in int.

            Has anyone tried Vongole Rosso yet? I made a couple stacks and have been testing it on RDM while XPing. It's hard to tell for sure, but it "feels" like it has a Magic Accuracy+ trait attached to it. I get as good or better results with enfeebles while using it as I get if I use +MND foods like roast mushrooms.

              I use sweet rice cakes as well. I'm not looking for MP in my food, just enough to make my Convert ratio as close to perfect as I can get. When I sub WHM, I use Rolanberry pie, since I have more HP and less MP than with BLM sub. There is nothing like seeing a convert-> divine seal-> cure4 back to full life. It's amazing.

                This is the stats on the Vongole Rosso.

                * HP +17% (Cap: 90@529 Base HP)
                * Vitality +2
                * Mind -1
                * Defense +25% (Cap: 30@120 Base Defense)
                * Store TP +6

                Maybe the site is wrong or some hidden effect??:confused:

                  I use Marron Glace in Manaburn parties, and when I'm pulling.

                  I use Brain Stew or Ambrosia (when I can get it) otherwise, for "normal" party roles.

                  However, I haven't been in a "normal" party in some time, so I've been eating a lot of Glace lately.

                  Marron Glace:
                  +13% MP (caps at +85 MP when you have 653 base MP)
                  +1 MP recovered while healing

                  Brain Stew:
                  +5 DEX
                  +5 INT
                  +5 MND
                  +3 HP/MP recovered while healing

                  Ambrosia:
                  +7 STR, DEX, VIT, AGI, INT, MND, CHR
                  +7 HP/MP
                  +7 HP/MP recovered while healing
                  +7 Accuracy/Attack/Defense/Evasion

                    I on the same boat as swingfly. Food is a nice way to further compensate what your race lacks.. and as for taru, it's MND. Witchkabobs are nice, they're about 4k each and last for an hour. If I can't find any around, I go for roast mushrooms.

                    Brain stew looks like the ultimate RDM food though it's 20k for a 3-hour food. It pains me though when the party was intended to be (Long) (time) and someone leaves in an hour ><

                      Getting close to 75 now ^^

                      I eat MP food when I /brd to boost MP up closer to HP. I just like Orange Cuchen because it's cheap and lasts long.

                      /whm with gear alone I already have MP close to HP so I eat cookies for resting. Same goes with /blm.

                      Some PT I barely have to use MP at all (2 mages and nin tank for example) in that case sometimes I eat sushi to skill up my weapons.

                        I use Marron Glace for MP food, usually for things where I'll be standing a long time like Kirin, Dynamis, etc. Also a bit for pop item farming or whatever.

                        Use Goblin Mushpots for MND, usually for XP.

                        Carry Melon Pies for times when I may be dying or just as backup food.

                          When in xp parties, I default to Melon Pie +1 for the +5 INT. I like to sub SMN when I play RDM. My main interest (and fun) is in having good stats in INT & MND over having lots of MP. If I can afford it, I also purchase Brain Stew for +5INT/MND.

                          However, if I am in a NIN/RNG/THF/BRD/BLM pt, then I sub WHM and eat Sub-Zero Gelato for the large MP gain. (+80mp, caps after 500MP, +2 MP Heal) You could also use Marron Glace, but the +1 extra MP Heal that Gelato has over Maron is more to my liking than the extra +5MP.
