Approaching level 70~ need equip advice

OK, so maybe 67 isn't quite "approaching" yet, but I just love being overprepared for when I hit my next nevels

I recently hit a jackpot with buying the Errant Houppelande, slops, and the forest Rope, as well as all my spells to 75, and I've got a few questions as to what I should be equipping in the future.

The houppelande is very enticing to me as a mage, but I'm wondering, versus the Warlock's Tabard, which would perform best during battle? I see +10INT and MND and -emnity, but then I see the 15feeb skill I'm losing, in lieu of that. Should I only swap out equips to the tabard for when I enfeeble?

Also, in terms of Elemental staves~ should I even bother with Water and Thunder staves for bursting on the skillchains? It may boost max damage, but I have a high rate of resists, which Ice staff would most likely reduce for me. I'm already equipped with Wind, Earth, and Ice staves for enfeeble rates (which I'm religious about equipping) and wonder if I should save my gil for other things.

One last question :3

The Wing Sword~ I'm glad I bought it when I did, but I'm just wondering, until I can get my hands on a Joyeuse, how effective will this sword be for me? Is it worth keeping? Or should I just sell it and put the cash towards an Elemental Torque?

Definately sell the Sword for a Torque imo.

I haven't got the Errant body piece yet, don't think I will. I use the Vermillion when I rest, which isn't often in my static party. If I do rest, it's only for 1-2 ticks, so I cba to drag around another body piece.
I prefer the Enfeebling on the AF.

I'd suggest getting a Thunder Staff, if you like to MB Thunder 3 on light chains that is. I even got a Fire staff for the pick up parties I'll get in the Tomb when I exp for merits. ò.Ó

The errant hoppulade is great for your spell damage but when it comes to enfeebling go with the best around on the Warlock Tabard and keep the body for elemental skill damage and resting, the Errant Legs are best legs you can ever get for your rdm mage duties unless you get the AF2 legs from Dynamis-Jueno for a elemental spell macro.

On getting more staves I think its uneeded because you'll want the elemental skill bonus on the Ice Staff to push as much magical ability into your nukes for the fewest resists.

I bought a Wingsword and used it for a few days before I upgraded my Dynamis Relic again, the Wing Sword is... well, :| ok. If you want a really good sword go with a Gold Sword, Joyeuse or Enhancing Sword. I have a good post and review on different endgame swords here at Killing Ifrit .

i'd suggest thunder, water staff isnt worth it for you, thunder b/c even though u get +10 off ice thunder reduces resist rates on thunder based spells greatly and adds more damage =)

Errant Houppelande is in fact better while resting than Vermillion Cloak.

Suppose you (= RDM72) are resting for a minute.

Errant Houppelande:
In 20 sec: +28 (18 + 5) MP
In 30 sec: +29 (19 + 5) MP
In 40 sec: +30 (20 + 5) MP
In 50 sec: +31 (21 + 5) MP
In 60 sec: +32 (22 + 5) MP
Total: +125MP

Vermillion Cloack:
From resting: +100MP
From refresh effect (1MP/3sec): +20MP
Total: +120MP

Well, you can stick to Vermillion for first 18 sec for +6MP and can change it to Houppelande before first restoration in 20 sec.

Anyway, always stay with your Warlock's Tabard unless you're facing with T or weaker mobs. Although we have Enfeebling Torque and the Tabard, it doesn't mean our enfeebling spells are never resisted by XP mobs.

As for staves, you're still LV67 and Water III should be your strongest elemental magic for Dark SC. You may want to purchase Water Staff till you get Blizzard III. However, you're going to see less Dark SC later. I'd suggest you save your money for Fire / Thunder Staff.

Finally, Wing Sword is similar to Epee, my town sword. The graphic is very nice but the performance is not 400K worth. I'd take Gold Sword +1 for 350K.

[EDIT]: MP regen bonus of Errant Houppelande while resting is +5, not +10. The number corrected. It is still better than Vermillion however.

Macro your body pieces into the corresponding spells to get the maximum effect. I did this after I noticed more resist to enfeebles after I first xped with Errant Houppelande. Believe these are accurate examples of one enfeeble macro, and one spell macro:

Paralyze

/equip main "Ice Staff"
/equip body "Warlork Tabard"
/echo Paralyze <bt>
/ma "Paralyze" <bt>

Blizzard III

/equip main "Ice Staff"
/equip body "Errant Houppelande"
/equip ring1 "Zircon Ring"
/equip ring2 "Zircon Ring"
/echo Blizzard III <bt>
/ma "Blizzard III" <bt>

That solved my resist problems when I macro the Tabard in all enfeebles that I use in xp. If I got a resist after that, I knew I was at my best when i tried atleast.

Gold Sword +1 is available on your server? I checked on Midgardsormr, and only two have ever been sold at the Jeuno AH.

Yes, I just found one in AH today. About 5 - 6 are sold every months. Well, the price is getthing higher.

Gold Sword +1 is 1 to 2 per month on Siren, I got mine in November, and 5 have sold since.

Thanks for the opinions ! ^^ I'll work on getting those macros set up~ and I'll probably just keep the Wing sword as a memento, while saving up for other, more practical weaponry and armors.
