Pimp Hat acquired! Today, December 28th, Sepukku the Relentless obtained his AF Hat. Two nights ago his 9-man PT of

Annihilated Miser Murphy in under 120 seconds. Everyone's TP was at 300% and we engaged. On the PLD's call, everyone used their Weapon Skill. Sepukku's Shining Blade hit for 174 Damage and everyone else landed their's with no misses. (Even the WHM hit her Seraph Strike!) Miser Murphy soon fell after the RNG unleashed Barrage followed by Sidewinder and the PLD+DRK finished it with another Guillotine and Savage Blade. Also defeated includes Nue in under 180 seconds.

Tonight, Sepukku and the RDM-60 gathered a 7-man group:

PLD/WAR (Level 69)
RDM/BLM (Level 60)
RDM/BLM (Level 54) (me!)
to take on the Gaurdian Statue. Sepukku was the first to pop the Statue and get his nail puller. Nervous, with everyone at 300 TP, he applied Stoneskin and popped the NM. The PLD Flashed it, everyone used their weapon skills, and then disengaged as the RDM/DRK, and 2 PLDs went to town. This battle took about 5 minutes with all 3 Mage-ing RDMs assigned to keep one specific melee hasted and refreshed. The Statue resisted most enfeebles, even with Elemental Seal. Sepukku was in Charge of Dispel so that he could get possible Enfeebling Magic Skill Ups. The Statue fell after a Savage Blade. Sepukku lotted a 400 on the Nail Puller and went over and used it. During the cutscene, Rainmarde punched Sepukku in the face and 'Pukku then ripped off his costume to appear as Maat! One 'Hundred Fists' and 4 Asuran Fists later, Rainmarde was lying dead at Sepukku-Maat's feet. Just Kidding, those last 2 sentences were made up. Sepukku recieved praise from Rainmarde and went to San'Doria to recieve his Hat. Sepukku will now XP to 60 without leveling his subjob (currently at 26) under the reassruance of the RDM/DRK who said at level 60 his highest subjob was level 8. Sepukku later decided that the RDM/DRK was a crazy drunk Hume without enough INT to be considered half-intelligent. Sepukku will level his subjob to 29 tomorrow then XP hardcore from Thursday-Sunday to hit 60 and place the game's coolest hat on his head. (Of course, with the exception of the Duelist's hat, but only one person on Shiva server owns one and he is of course:JP...sigh)

Congrats! Your party was a bit overkill for Miser Murphy though ^^

I lucked out and got into a JP group for both parts, and I was very nervous about the Guardian Statue part. Our pt was 70+ nin/war, 71 whm, 61 war/nin, 60 blm, 60 rdm/blm (me) and a 58 rdm/blm.

Had to do everything twice since there were 2 RDM, both fights with the statue went flawlessly, even with a group of 6. The nin/war was excellent, and barely got hit. When he did, he was promply cured by the WHM.

The cutscene at the cathedral was especially cool.

Congratulations!
I got mine two days ago. Me and 3 other RDMs did it in the wrong order though, Guardian Statue first, then Miser Murphy. Because of that we had to run back and forth from San d'Oria a bit more than we should have. I'm very close to 60 now, but I'm waiting for 2 of my friends to catch up before I party again.

Our party was pretty huge, and we all meleed against the statue, which left one RDM dead to eat a Raise I because he couldn't get Stoneskin up fast enough. :<
Miser we killed in under a minute each time, only death there was when the BLM pulled and just died somehow so fast I didn't see. ; ;
