55 rdm/nin solo Centurio X-I?

I'm fiending a Shaman's Cloak from Centurio X-I and was wondering if I'll be able to solo at level 55 rdm/nin with
2x astrals, 2 Morion Earrings, 1 Morion Tathlum, AF Gloves and Boots, Valk Mask, 2x Wise Wizard's Analace (the rest I haven't thought about too much yet...) I want this cloak and would like to solo so I don't have to bother my LS members. If anybody has suggestions on the gear I have mentioned (or haven't mentioned) please speak up... I'd rather be told my faults than go and face him only to die a swift death ^^

Honestly I'm sorry to break it to you but I don't think theres any way you're going to win. I'm pretty sure he is not silenceable and he casts ancient magic and lots of fairly high lvl spells. Also he spawns in a room full of anticans that are EP to me at 60. I checked mysterytour when I was going to get my cloak...said 68 rdm to solo it.

Anyway good luck if you try to solo it, which I dont suggest, otherwise good luck finding some help and getting the drop. I died three times on this NM, rest of the pt killed it every time and didn't drop cloak untill the 3rd time so I hope you have better luck than me. Last time it also droped quake and adaman ore but the ppl that actually helped me camp it didnt even got to lot on it, long story.

dont solo any NM thats either the lvl you are or 2 lvls below you i tired to solo a goblin NM in gustav tunnel with my red mage and all i got was ass whooping and lost exp

I want this cloak just because I like how it looks. The stats suck compared to AF hat and body, so its useless for me to wear in EXP pt, but I still want it. I'm kinda nervous about trying to solo this NM at 65, so I certainly wouldnt recommend it at 55.

I'm sure I can beat it... just dont know if I'm ready to try.

Utsusemi absorbs one hit spells like Freeze/Burst/Tornado.

And since it takes him a day and a half to cast it, I don't think AM is something you'd need to be worried about.

No, I think a rdm would have to be at *least* 65 to solo this guy and would for sure need ninja sub to do so, and it'd still be very dangerous.

I say this because I duo'd him at 67 (thf/nin) with a 67 blm/whm. Blm kept stoneskin up best he could...your biggest worry would be sleepga, as it sleeps you and wipes all shadows. If you have stoneskin up, you won't awaken until it's been worn through :/ Poison potions are one idea, but make stoneskin impossible. Keeping it silenced sounds nice in theory, but this guy is reallllly resistant to magic. We finished this (very hectic) fight with half hp and blm at less than 100 mp. This was without links. With links, we probably would have had to escape minus the prize, not because the regular antican were tough (meh, they're not) but because centurio is such a bish. He didn't even use jamming wave. We killed him fast enough...was just a bit harrowing o_O

No actually using Stoneskin with Poison works fairly well...and is not impossible

When you want to wake up all you have to do is remove Stoneskin.

This would be a very hard fight, I think. You could probably do it given the right equipment and would likely need potions. The fact that it is a Tough/VT -NM- (at lvl 55) means you are most likely going to run out of MP before the fight is over. And if reports are to believed, your Sleep spell is most likely going to fail. You will have no way to regen MP unless you use ethers and stuff.

Go ahead and make the attempt though. Death isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be ^^ and you'll learn a lot. It may take you a few attempts to figure out the strategy you need to follow to take him down. Also, you might practice soloing some Tough beastmen first, just to get a feel for how it works.

You probably could duo this dude at 58. Gonna need to grab him, run up to the drop off ledge. Have a WHM/WAR voke him with stoneskin and take him to the zone. You escape (/BLm) and meet him inside at the zone. As he runs to the zone, Elemental Seal and toss a Gravity and Sleep II on the NM. The monsters that linked on the WHMs run to the zone will wander off while the NM chills at the zone. After waiting ~60 seconds in Altepa, zone in and fight. Use Bar-element spells to reduce damage from Ancient Magic and keep Stoneskin up to also help reduce damage. If you can't pull off Stoneskin (2.5-4 second casting) and a Bar-element spell (0.5 seconds) in the time it takes for him to cast a 15 second spell, then you're screwed but of course we all know you can pull it off ^-^ Good luck. Paralyze is your best friend against Ancient Magic...saves my butt so many times when me and my friends trio'ed the Moldavite Earring NM (we were RDM-PLD-RDM, so no Stun, just one Shield Bash and then it was luck from there).

But duo-able at 58 I'd be Centurio is.

At 67, the blm with me Elemental Sealed Silence, it still failed. Silence wouldn't stick. Now, I'm not at all sure we tried Sleep, though I do recall trying some sleep bolts to interrupt some spells and they didn't seem to want to proc. (Annoying -_-)

A rdm does have a greater chance to land either of these (especially given the corresponding staff), but the enfeebling skill on a 67 blm is going to be higher than the enfeebling skill of a 58 rdm.

Take it as you may. I'm not saying it's impossible, and someone already made the very good point that death isn't all THAT bad. Also, the zone to the Cloister of Tremors isn't that far if you need to hightail it. Seriously don't underestimate this guy though.

at 75, ES + Silence didnt work for me. Stoneskin + correct Bar = useless antict magic. Just pull Centurio to the southern tunnel with worms and you should be aggro free.

Well I've done a duo with this guy 2 times now and no drop... I'm getting tired of waiting for somebody who can help me and I think I've learned enough about him to maybe pull it off. If I die, oh well, I have my exp buff. If my 72 rng friend can't help me tomorrow I'll be back here posting the story of my death =P
I do think I'll be using poison potions tho and will remove stoneskin when needed. Honestly, I hope my friend isn't busy haha

Well, i went in and tried to solo a Princep without using items and I couldn't do it and warped out... my logic was that if i can't take one of the PLD's alone without item help then I prolly can't take the NM with the item help. I did get my cloak the next day tho, a 66 war/nin and 67 mnk/thf helped me out and DESTROYED it, they made about 15k each from gil and item drop and I got my cloak so it worked out. I know 15k isn't much but they were bored and volunteered to go without my asking. Thanks for all of the ideas!
