  • goodbye friendly rdm's - a brief hiatus

i apologize if i bring anyone down by this - with two other rdm's waving goodbye...

anyway, like others, i'm into wow as the flavor of the month.

so i'm at least taking a break from ffxi. i doubt i will be playing much in the near future - and you might have noticed my posts here have disappeared.

so i just wanted to give a /wave in case i just vanish and do retire my rdm. thanks to many of you who helped with ideas, problems, and other things. happy hunting to you all!

and of course, a /bow to the head rdm, grendal, aka apple pie. cheers to you - you're about as helpful as they get on these boards. on top of it all, you're courteous and polite. a not too common trait on these boards. keep killin stuff and giving stories - it's always awesome to hear what you've accomplished.

good luck to all of you - and just go have fun

Finally! Now with all of these taru rdms out of the way, the ELVAAN UPRISING can begin! >.>
Oops, did I say that out loud?

Anyway, good luck to you in WoW bono. If you do permanently retire you'll be very much missed around here. /salute Thank you for all your good posts.

Have fun, that's the most important part.

Most Taru/Mithra players go into withdrawl when going to another game. I myself still adore when poor Tarus die and make that little scream and *thud*.

      :spin:

Ok this is getting out of hand... whos next, Apple Pie?

As if it wasnt depressing enough seeing Ruic and Patch quit, now Bono? WTF?

        Damn you WoW... damn you...

If Apple Pie (aka Grendal) quits too, Im either:
                A. Quitting reading the ffxionline.com forums
                B. Changing my job to Ninja.
                C. Taking the torch and leading the RDMs to new milestones.

None of them sound too fun, because Im a follower, not a leader, so C. would put pressure on me and A. and B. are sad. Grendal dontaru quitaru!

                Windurst Rank 10. ZM14. CoP M5-2.
RDM->62 (AF Completed), MNK->62 (AF Completed).

SHHHH, dont give put the entire future of Red Mages into Apple's lap!

                    Damn.. how come we're losing all the prominent ppl, and not the n00bs? Ruic, then Patch, and now Bono? Damn.. this forum is gonna suck as bad as the DRK forum now. I doubt me, lowly Taru RDM that I am (and same server as Grendal no doubt) can continue the legacy at this point in time ; ;

May Altana bless me, for my task is hard.

After we obtain Warlock's Chapeau, we actually have no update. I know a few of us quit RDM and level other jobs because they lose their motivation. Most of us still move forward to Genkai 5 quest but once they defeat him, more people start to quit because our role in XP PT never change and we must continue to do the same thing for "Next: 40,000+ XP." What is more, once they get Joyeuse, the ultimate weapon for RDM, they feel they are done.

I guess I know how you feel now, Bono. It's sad to see you go but it is nice to do something different to refresh yourself. In addition, it is good for you to see this world from the outside. I live in Japan and I thought I knew what the place was like but I didn't. After I went to the U.S and look back it on, I was able to see something I didn't know when I was there.

It was fun to talk with you here and I hope you'll come back soon.

As for myself, I'm not quitting so soon. I haven't even started any CoP mission yet I'm LV75 but I only got two merit points (1 for Sword and the other for Enfeebling) so far. There are still a lot of things I have to solo like AATT. Now, I'm crazy about uncapped Ballista. Uncapped Ballista matches on Gilgamesh Server (especialy the ones in our prime time) are well organized. Many people seek for good group tactics. As a matter of fact, our role is very important. The number of RDMs and their performance directly affects the tide of war.

On the other hand, I'm writing some notes for those who want to be RDM right now based on my experience. It's not anything like "@@@'s @@@ 101." It's just a note. I hate to see so many "@@@'s @@@ guides" on one forum. I don't know when I finish writing it but until I have it done, I don't quit.

i'm sad now (no pun intended)

but i may go the way of bono and hit up WoW though i don't intend on canceling my ffxi account... yet!

This is what I felt. I was driven by my desire to kill Maat for the past few months, but it evaporated as free time did.

Anyway, I hope you have fun in WoW, bono. You are one of the RDM I admired for trying new things even though you were often stubborn about changing your ways. I admired how you could be doubtful but still gave things a chance before deciding they were no good (dreaded equipment changing macros!). I never thought less of someone for thinking something wouldn't work if he was willing to try it, which you always were.

Also, I will say here that Grendal is a RDM I always looked up to, so I tip my Chapeau to him with bono and others.

If you are interested in a Horde guild, you can PM me about one some friends of mine have started where they seem to have a lot of fun (assuming you haven't already joined one and developed a character).
                              There will be cake.
