Ok, after hearing so many RDM's say how they never suffered resists until the 40's and 50's, I have to go ahead and ask myself "Wtf?". I'm currently leveling RDM (it's at 26), and all through the dunes, Qufim, and even now in Kazham, I'm finding I get resists (full resists) of Paralyze, Slow, and Gravity much more than I'd like. Before you go ahead and say it's because I'm a Taru, let me say this. I've tried to keep myself with the best equip's I can buy. I haven't bought any of the "uber" equips, but I consider myself above par, and I also have 3 sets of equipment on me at all times. 9/10 parties I'll be eating Roast Mushrooms. Onto the equipment:
Main: Either Yew Wand +1 (I think it's Yew...it's the +4 int/mnd wand at lv18, can't replace until lv32) or Bee Spatha +1 (+2 accuracy)
Sub: Soon as one goes on AH, Lantern Shield
Ammo: Morion Tathlum
Head: Bastokan Cap
Body: Priest's Robe
Hands: Zealot's Mitts, or Bastokan Mitts
Legs: Bastokan Subligar
Feet: Light Soleas
Waist: The +1 Mnd +5 mp one...forget the name (Adept's Rope?)
Back: Empty
Earrings: Empty
Rings: Eremite Rings, Saintly Rings, or 2 +1 DEX rings
Neck: Black Silk Neckerchief, Justice Badge, or Spike Necklace
I think that's it, but I could be forgetting a peice here and there. What I do know is, it swaps me between:
MND Gear:
+19 MND (with Roast Mushroom)
INT Gear:
+11 INT
Melee Gear:
+2 Accuracy, +10 attack (or so), +5 Dex
I haven't melee'd since going to Kazham, but mainly I'm meleeing to cap my sword skill and to contribute some damage to the party (yes, I know Nukes are more efficient, but I do them too).
Am I missing anything? Should I be doing something better? All I know is I suffer from way more resists than I want to be suffering through. More than other's have said they suffered through. Iunno...gimme some advice, ye sagey RDM's.
Oh, last thing:
Switching between equipment is done all on the macro that casts the spell...so my paralyze macro switches to +19 mnd, my gravity and nuke macro's switch to +11 INT, and I have a separate macro that switches me to attack gear.
