For the demons in the inner rooms I'm not really sure how I would kill them all between spawns. They hit so hard that it wasn't funny anymore I was considering trying them but using food with +def instead but I have a feeling that it would be pure luck if I got all of them between spawn. Maybe if I subbed Drk (or even better, had War leveled) I could do it if I spent yet another couple of million on my gear but I'm not so sure it would be worthwhile then.

Anyway, it seems as if I need to play around with gear a bit more to find a good mix of +att, +str and other stats. I'm kind of interested in whether a Swordbelt +1 or a Warwolf Belt is better. Also, I can pretty easily add 20-25 attack and 9 str to what I have now (+32-37 attack and +4 str if I go with Swordbelt) so I'll try with that next time I'm farming.
The Demon magistrate drops the sands of silence. Not sure what they go for at AH, but they are not rare, so you can hold multiple (one for yourself and some to sell) Pulling them would be risky. It would probably run all the way around instead of climbing the wall, thereby linking about 4 others. I would just drop down to the bottom and pull them into the hall. When you finish killing them, "flee" back up top and drop down to the Ahriman again.

For the level 70 demons in the middle room, I wish I knew what they dropped exactly. They are probably too hard to farm, although soloing for experience/skillups would be viable with the right gear.

    • I think they're possible to solo Nuke-Sleep/Bind style, but they're going to be tough. We won't have enough time to rest up in order to confront the lv64-66 mobs in time with full power.

21-24HR pop NMs spawn there I believe, some drop good items (Corsair's Knife, Absorb-DEX, etc) but we can't solo them.

The only solution seems to be to get both

Thinking of this makes me a bit interested in a Dusk Mask + Swordbelt.....That seems like a pretty good combination. But, as you say the stat bonuses on the Warwolf belt are too good.

Gman: The Demons in the inner rooms drop what the ones in the outer does but the Blm types can drop Flare. These are the only things I've ever seen or heard that they drop. I'm assuming that the drop rates are a bit better but I really don't know. I'm not really in a position where I can experiment there as I'd need to upgrade my gear a whole lot before I would even consider trying.

        • The BLM Type (Dread Demon) drops Firaga II, Firaga III and a Flare scroll... as well as a testimony.

It's not too bad to go as a duo to take out both sides (lv64-66 and lv71-73) while waiting for the 21-24HR NMs if you have ToD for them. It shouldn't be that crowded. ^^

            • Just out of curiosity.....

Does anyone else find Ahriman very very annoying to fight? How do you guys fight it? Silence doesn't seem to land for me ;; Even after Dispel...

                • Well, I'm subbing THF since it's for farming so I cannot Stun.

Flat Blade is a good, but sometimes it just casts multiples. I suppose I could use the Fencer's Earring I guess since I'm always in yellow for the Carp. Gauntlets and Fencer's Ring. I was just wondering how everyone else was doing it. Gman said he didn't have any problems with them so I was just wondering ^^

I dunno Apple Pie personally, but after all the work he's done with all his crazy soloing, I don't think he'd like hearing "we can't solo them" in one of his greatest threads. You might not be able to kill them as /THF, but with /NIN, /DRK, or /BLM, its worth a shot. Heck, it even might takes meds, drinks, and foods, but completely impossible... I don't think it would be.

Oh, I didn't mean it like that... sorry for the confusion-

We could definately take them on, with NIN sub for Utsusemi or even other subs; the DRK, Duke Haborym wouldn't stand a chance against you...

I was stating that it'd be rather hard for us to take it down with THF sub, and also the fight itself would take too much time for us to heal up and rotate back to the farming locations.

Zempten, I also think that the Ahrimans are pretty annoying, however they're rarely dangerous. The worst thing with them is when they cast Bio III because that dot is just too strong. Also, don't waste mp on Silence, if you'd ever land it on them it would be by pure luck. Your time and mp is better spent on meleeing it or casting Poison II.

I tend to just skip all latent effect items because they're not really necessary. I found that I can kill all 4 demons and the Ahriman before respawn even without food, although it's a bit close, Bio III a few times in that run and the Ahriman is already up after the last demon. Instead of keeping my hp in the yellow I'd rather just keep regen on and keep my hp high for when the Ahriman does All Eyes On Me followed by some -ga III or such

                          Ahrimans don't like me at all then. Petrify and ancint already ; ; It's not pretty. . . . . .

Well I just use Latent cause Fencer's Ring and Earring seem to be alright and while my HP is yellow I might as well throw in the Carpace Gauntlet.

I did notice eatting food made things go faster a bit ^^

you need to put up barpetrify before you fight them when they land it on me. it rarely last longer than like 5 seconds. for ancient magic you have plenty of time to cast the bar element of the spell its casting. with bar spell up AM does like 30 dmg.

the eyes hardly ever give me a problem. if they sleep you click off your stoneskin so it can wake you up. it will take forever for them knock it down with melee, and it increases the chance that he will do eyes on me or ancient magic where you can't prepare for it.

i just came to this place as 74 rdm ^^ it's so much easier than i thought. I'm clearing the room within 13-14 minutes even have time to sit before ahriman pops. However I'm not 75 yet tho so I'm virtually safe from lvl5 petrify. I have no idea how to counter petrify yet until I can try it out.

My thf is only 28 but I bring bat earrings (+15 evade when blind) and ahriman/demons like to blind me very often. much more helpful than dodge earing IMO.

anyway, ahriman's ancients are easy to dodge. just cast blink when you see them starting ancients ^^ more than enough time for our blinks.
