First of all, I'm sorry to say it's going to be very long post.

Well, I know most people do not want to reveal their favorite farming place because the more rivals thare are, the less you earn. However, the place I'm trying to introduce now is something like RDM73+ (SMN74+) only place and because it isn't easy to get there, I think it's safe to share this with fellow RDMs here.

Gil-farming is basically boring because you usually farm too weak mobs like Tigers in Batallia or Goobbues in Zi'tab for example. I used to fall asleep while farming them since it's not exciting at all. I know there are other ways to make money from gardening, fishing and synthing but we cannot get beastman seals or kindred seals from these ways.

Where I usually hang around gives you both money, seals and skills up to LV66 cap. So, where it is? It is called, "Demon's Castle" among us. Have you ever searched Castle Zvahl Baileys recently? I guess you sometimes find RDM74+/THF37 soloing there. Yes, they are having fun there.

    Here's where they hang around.

There are 4 demons in each room and 1 ahriman in each isle. You may know they all drop coffer keys but they drop some nice items, too. Here's the list of what they drop.

    Ahriman (LV63 - LV65)
    - Ahriman Tears (1K each and 13K for Dozen)
    - Ahriman Lens (If you have alchemiy skill, you can create x8 prism powders from this)
    - Ahriman Wings (15K each in AH, not stackable)

    Abyssal Demon (Summoner, LV64 - LV66)
    - Orc Piercer (sold at 8,579 gil in regular shops)
    - Demon Horn (13K each in AH, stackable)
    - Ice Spirit Pact (9K - 10K in AH, Rare)

    Arch Demon (Dark Knight, LV64 - LV66)
    - Shellbuster (sold at 4,018 gil in regular shops)
    - Demon Horn (13K each in AH, stackable)

    Blood Demon (Warrior, LV64 - LV66)
    - Yagudo Freezer (sold at 5,321 gil in regular shops)
    - Demon Horn (13K each in AH, stackable)

    Doom Demon (Black Mage, LV64 - LV66)
    - Demon Horn (13K each in AH, stackable)

Average income per hour is usually 40K - 50K depending on our luck. If I'm really unlucky, it is around 20K but no less than that. On the other hand, the highest is 80K per hour. Here's the list of items I got in 2 hours after killing 7 Ahrimans and 24 Demons last time.

    x1 Ahriman Lens
    x2 Ahriman Wings
    x3 Ahriman Tears
    x5 Orc Piercer
    x1 Shellbuster
    x6 Dark Crystal
x4 Dark Cluster (from Dark Elementals on my way to the room)
x1 SAM Testimony (not worth )
    x2 Beastman Seal
    x2 Kindred Seal
    x2 Coffer Key
    x3 Demon Horn
    + 3,676 gil
    Total: 120K+

The main reason I like this place is that, as I said, it is RDM73+ or SMN74+ only. No other job can do the same as they do with THF sub. NIN/THF? - No! THF/NIN? - No! PLD/THF? - No! DRK/THF? - No! DRG/THF? - Never! That's why this place isn't crowded. I hate to go to popular places because there are so many people out there.

They are all EPs for LV72+ but they are all hard. I was already killed five times by Arch Demons (took 200+ damage with critical) and Ahrimans (took 400+ damage with "Eyes On Me"). These two are extremely hard. I sometimes see dead bodies of RDM75/THF37, too. It's exciting, you know. You have no chance to fall asleep. If you lose concentration, you're killed.

They all respawn in 16 minutes and this means you only have 16 minutes after killing the first one. Here's how I do.
    http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/farming.wmv (580kbps, 70MB)

The only problem seems to be the fact that we cannot go AFK. Don't worry. The center (where I was resting on the movie) of the room was safe. You can leave yourself without Invisible.

Anyway, if you're interested, try this place. I think it's good for you to learn soloing technique. Many Japanese people say you cannot keep up killing 4 + 1 without Joyeuse but that's not true because I'm doing that without it. However, you need both attack+ and evasion+ gears. /THF30+ is must for 2x Evasion Bonus. I've been there since I was RDM71/THF35. I only took 4 demons until I became RDM73 but that's still OK for some good money and fun.

If you have some trouble taking them, let me know. I can show you tips. I got around 5 - 6 kindred seals after 3 hours farming here. 3 hours farming for 6 days allow me to go BCNM Manticore every week, hehehe. Have fun farming

EDIT: Wrong Subject! "Fan" -> "Fun" What an idiot I was.

Great description, and thanks a lot. I have searched Baileys a few times, especially in my times going there (for coffer keys or missions, specifically) and the only people there not in parties are usually RDM or THF (assume they're going for coffers).

I'm curious as to your equipment for farming these. I'd imagine an Assault Jerkin would be ideal, but then again I don't know much about this kind of thing. Good stuff.^^
    There will be cake.

Have you tried taking down the NMs that spawn there solo? I duo'd them with a 73THF/NIN but I'm unsure if I could solo one..

Like Marquis Allocen and Marquis Amon? Well, no, I haven't soloed them yet. I took one of them down with some of my LS members a long time ago but I haven't seen them recently.

The only one I soloed recently was Baronet Romwe that sometimes drops Demon's Axe in Castle Zvahl Keep, not Baileys.
I'm curious as to your equipment for farming these.
Here's some of them. As you see on the movie, I bring a lot of gears for gear-swapping.

        Melee
        http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/melee.jpg

Main: Verdan (Haven't got Joyeuse yet )
        Sub: Spiked Buckler
        Head: Ogre Mask
        Neck: Evasion Torque
        Body: Narasimha's Vest
        Hands: Carapace Gauntlets +1
        Waist: Sword Belt +1
        Legs: Feral Trousers
        Boots: Dance Shoes
        Back: Amemit Mantle +1
        Earrings: Dodge Earring x 2
Rings: Fencer Ring + Ruby Ring

        For Enfeebling Spells
        http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/enfeeble.jpg

        Head: Warlock's Chapeau
        Neck: Enfeebling Torque
        Body: Warlock's Tabard
        Legs: Errant Slops
        Ring1: Sapphire Ring

        For Stoneskin
        http://www5.sppd.ne.jp/grendal/FF11/stoneskin.jpg

        Head: Warlock's Chapeau
        Neck: Enhancing Torque
        Body: Errant Houppelande
        Legs: Warlock's Tights
        Ring1: Sapphire Ring

With melee gears, I have +9 STR and +56 ATK when the latent effect is activated but I'm not happy with it. I guess I need more ATK without sacrificing evasion. I'm making money for Dusk Trouser now.

By the way, demons have a special attack called "Hecatomb Wave" and we're often blinded. So, it's nice to have 2x Bat Earring when blinded.

Oh, I forgot to mention this.

Although there are four rooms, I recommend either the one at Orc area or Yagudo area. As you see what they drop, the more you kill Abyssal Demon, the more you get. For example,

          - Abyssal Demon dropped Orc Piercer
          - Abyssal Demon dropped Ice Spirit Pact
          - Abyssal Demon dropped Demon Horn

You get over 30K from one demon if you're very lucky. What is more, this demon is weak. Demon's elementals aren't hard, either.

Back to the topic, there are certain combinations of spawns for each room. For example of the one at Yagudo area,

          - Blood Demon (fixed)
          - Doom Demon (fixed)
          - Abyssal Demon or Arch Demon (random)
          - Abyssal Demon or Arch Demon (random)

You have chance to see two Abyssal Demons as a result. This seems to be the same for the one at Orc area. Well, it's risky, too because Arch Demons are very annoying

EDIT Include a image showing what happens today

Thought i would add a few things for new people that wanted to do this, if you are already familiar with Castle Zvahl and its inhabitents, the below should be well known already.

            - Ahrimans > Demons

Ahrimans are more dangerous than demons, since they dont take to silence and are very hard to sleep. Also, once in a while that ancient magic will get through.

            Demons = invis
            Ahrimans = invis and sneak

            - OMG i am going to die situations

Odds are death will visist sooner or later in there. No warp, far way to a zone, and some hardhitting mobs also get lucky eventually. Bring a reraiser, its fast to use, and shaving around 1k xp of that death is worth it.

            - Doing a cycle

Try to time it so that you come from a fresh convert and thus are at your strongest when going for the Ahriman. Starting out with full hp and decent mp will tide you over some rough times against a lucky ahriman.

            - Linking

Demons link, and they are real good at it, a bit of care when breaking the rooms spawns will go a long way.

            - Mob placement

Demons are place 2 by 2 on each north / south room side. They will stick to each their side in pairs. Kill the pair before moving to next side, it will give you a free haven to withdraw to if you cant handle all 4 demons.

Finally a note to Grendal about the wmw.

I note that you use Poison(II? cant tell) to wake the mobs. Given that our only dependable crowd control spell with /thf is sleep I + II, isnt having a dot on the mobs somewhat of a gamble ?

Out of curiousity~ would duoing this hurt the income made? Obviously we'd kill faster, but are there enough repops to make it worth while? My friend was looking into this farming method and I figured it'd be a lot more fun to duo farm.

I guess not. I think we should only be careful at the begenning when the room is occupied with four demons.

After I take one Ahriman down in the aisle, I pull each one of four demons to the aisle. After I finished killing two demons, I run into the room and stay at the center. Then, pull each of two demons left.

Although I mistakenly have adds, Sleep and Sleep II are not resisted by these EP demons. If all four demons link, there's no way I can survive but that doesn't usually happen, either.

Anyway, once I finished the first run, each of them shows up every 3 - 4 minutes from next time and I can always face with one at a time. Sometimes it takes me a long time to finish either Arch or Blood Demons and next one shows up before I take them down but as long as we fight at the center of the room, it's safe and there's no need to worry about adds.

The reason I use Poison II is because it's a powerful spell. The amount of slip damage is determined by our enfeebling magic skill. It eats 10HP/tick now and it lasts two minutes - total 400HP worth. Average damage of my Verdan is 68 - 69 and En- spell does 17 with Fencer Ring (Note: Both Ahrmans and Demons absorb 25% of magic spell damage). It is equal to 4 - 5 swings.

Well, if your partner is THF with TH2, that might be good but you know there are only 5 mobs in each room and they respawn in 16 minutes. If you guys wipe them out in 10 minutes, you have to wait for 6 minutes.

Yes, I sometimes see two or three people are staying there together but I'm afraid if each of them cannot earn more than 40K per hour.

If it is hard to take 4 + 1, you can forget about ahriman and only concentrate on 4 demons. That's still enough to make some good money and seals.

Sounds good... now I just have to level 11-12 times

Also, that map looks kinda like the area with the even higher level demons... cant remember their names, but they have to be at least 70+ since they are IT++ to me at 62. I could be mistaken though.

How come you use Shock Spikes? I tried it when Batallia Downs tigers could still hit me and very rarely saw them stunned. Very rarely for as long as a second even...

Yes, there are some higher LV demons (LV71 - LV73) here

                          Dread Demon (Black Mage)
                          Gore Demon (Warrior)
                          Judicator Demon (Dark Knight)
                          Stygian Demon (Summoner)

They are also in the deepest part. I used to go XPing there when I was LV64.

What they drop is exactly the same as the ones at those for rooms except for the fact that Dread Demon drops Firaga II, Firaga III and Flare.

They are much harder and we cannot solo them easily. However, for skill-up PT, that place is fun because you can make some good money while training your skill

First of all, thats so cool showing all the other rdms a great place to farm at higher lvls. I have a fealing this will be a great fun way for me to make gill when my rdm gets much higher. I was actually just thinking right before I saw this topic that it would be an awesome wasy to make gil at higher lvls since I made an easy 35k just trying to get a LS member a key there.

Now what I'm really wondering is why you say rdm/thf is the only job that can really farm here. I know a blm could never do it buy why wouldn't a thf/nin be able to? Also besides losing treasure hunter and the eva bonus wouldn't a 74 rdm/nin with utsu be able to do it too?

Well either way I defently see rdm/thf as being best job for this, just kinda curious why some other jobs wouldn't be able to. I really can't wait till I will be able to do stuff like this and am seeing more and more beneifits to me stoping blm(except to beat Maat  )
