  • MND vs Mana

At what point should you focus on MND gear as opposed to Mana gear? Im about level 20 and have +12 to MND and could get it higher but i have +mana gear on. since this is my first character, im wondering if i should focus more on +mana gear and keep MND around +12 or so?

    Stats:
    STR 20
    DEX 20
    Vit 19 +1
    AGI 19 -2
    INT 22 +4
    MND 24 +12
    CHR 21

    HP 286
    MP 173

    Thanks

In my eyes, Mana > MND

Mind is mostly used to land enfeebles and it also affects the potency for your cure spells, these are important to a red mage and this issue has come across to a lot of my RDM friends. I'd say since RDM's have lower MP they should stick with Mana. Mind doesn't really come into play in the early 20's, if you've noticed it's pretty easy to land enfeebles. My black mage can land bio and blind about 95% of the time. Also it depends what race you are, if you're an elvaan stick with Mana +, if you're a taru stick with MND +. I'm not sure about galka. Hume and Mithra are kind of at the center of it all so it's really a personal preference with them.

I use equipment change macros. As a lvl 13 RDM I had Eremite Rings x2, Saintly Rings x2, as well as some other Mnd gear like a wand and +3 MND Neck equipment.

I only wear the INT gear when I'm casting Blind, Bio, or MBing.
There is no knowledge without experience.

Completely depends on your race in the first 40 levels or so, I think.

If you're Galka or Elvaan I think you'd really serve from having some good MP+ gear (Astral Rings versus Saintly Ring+1s, for example... not that a new player is expected to be able to afford these things), but for a Tarutaru there's not much of a reason to use MP+ gear in a slot that has INT or MND+ gear instead.

After you get Convert and Refresh, MP is far less of an issue and INT and MND gear will be the top priority for most things.
        There will be cake.

Just go for the cheap version of each and switch between them as you need. lvl 36 +2mnd and +2int rings are great for swapping with lvl 40 electrum rings, and all of them are real cheap.

            MND >> MP

Of course it helps to have more mp, but if you're sacrificing enough MND to cause your debuffs to be resisted, you end up having to cast them again, thus wasting more mp, thus nullifying the extra MP in the first place.

Also, like Patchinko said, absolute MP maximization is less important after refresh. I wear MP gear right before a convert and on heals.. that's it.

Getting debuffs to stick the first time >> time and MP wasted casting them again
