    What status based are debuff spells? INT? MND? or both??

  • #2
    Bio --> Dark --> RDM/BLM
    Blind --> Enfeeble ---> RDM/BLM
    Paralyse --> Enfeeble RDM/WHM
    Shock --> Lightning --> RDM/BLM
    Dia --> Enfeeble --> RDM/WHM
    Slow --> Enfeeble --> RDM/WHM
    Gravity --> Enfeeble --> RDM

    Only a limited amount of RDM debuffs are elemental. Black Mage gets more elemental ones like Shock, Drown, Rasp.

    Edit:

    Paralyse, Dia and Slow are MND based. Higher MND = Less resistance and more effect (not sure about effectivness really)

    Darkness (i think), Bio etc are INT based.

      WHM spells are MND driven, and BLM spells are INT driven.

      You can tell what 'colour' the spell is by the casting animation. White lights + character raises one arm = white; green stripes + character opens arms = black (refer to picture to the left <- ).

          It's becoming more well known that MND affects the white magic enfeebles now, which really begs the question, does Elemental Seal (精霊) help them? I used to think it did, but since it probably just boosts your INT temporarily, I guess it doesn't... maybe Divine Seal helps?

            I know for a fact that elemental seal helps both paralyze and slow land. I'm lv70, and I have something like 209 enfeebling skill with my af body on. Fairly gimp, but even doing what I can doesn't raise it. I can't land a single paralyze or slow on mobs even as low as serket - I tried to land paralyze 9 times, got 9 resists. I used elemental seal, stuck Paralyze first try, and he got paralyzed multiple times before it wore. Same goes for slow - I got 9/9 resists from casting slow on Serket without Seal, 0/5 resists while using elemental seal. I'd say that's fairly conclusive...even though you'd have to take my word for it because I can't make movies....and who would actually read screen logs of it lol.

              I'm pretty certain elemseal just helps increase accuracy of the next spell, regardless of it's "Class" (white or black)

                In Garliage when i was lv 31 Paralyse would rarely land on beetles. When I used Elemental seal i got 100% success.
